ABOUT ME
Welcome to my profile! My name is Miriam and I'm a nature-loving girl that likes to try out new things and challenge her pre-assumptions. I just moved to Finland and I am already absolutely in love with the country.
PHILOSOPHY
“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the (initial) philosophy of Couchsurfing. I'm always interested in meeting new people. For me, Couchsurfing is a great possibility to experience places, cities, countries - including my own environment - in a special way and to get to know different lifestyles.
Interests
In my free time, I'm doing a lot of sports. I love dancing salsa and I just found out that roller derby is awesome fun even I'm not yet feeling very safe on the skates. I also spend a lot of time in the kitchen, trying out new (vegan) recipes from all over the world. Whenever there is a free moment I take a book and relax in my hammock.
I like to discuss with open-minded people and love spontaneous freaky actions.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an official non-expert for films. It rarely happens that I watch one and when I do so I'll forget everything in less than a week. So talking to me about films might be a bit boring. When it comes to music I'm quite flexible though. I listen - and dance - to all kinds of music (except for German 'Schlager').
Being a passionate reader it is quite hard for me to pick one favorite book. Just have a look at my bookshelves when you stay at my place.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't want to forget the smell of fresh sweet yeast dumplings at my grandma's place - traditionally prepared at the beginning of the summer holidays. Smells like freedom, home, walking barefoot over grass...
Teach, Learn, Share
I am interested in what interests and moves other people. I am fascinated by the huge potential of sharing - be it sharing books in a library, sharing tools in the neighborhood, sharing (fairy) stories in between generations and different cultural backgrounds. I am more than happy to share my experience with food-sharing, car-sharing and other sharing concepts in Germany.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My passion for vegan food, my travelling hammock (always with me), my view on the world...
