Overview
About Me
Outgoing and uncomplicated, always up for discovering new things, places, tastes, and meeting people from all over the world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couch surfing is one of the best ways to meet new people and get a typical local experience. It is also great to get tips and insights from locals for the place where I'm staying, so that I can understand how life is there and learn about it.
Interests
There is so much to see on our planet, and just not enough time! I love to explore new places - preferably off the beaten path and seeing how the locals live. [You can see some of my travel experiences and how I view the world on Facebook under Unfiltered Explorations, or on Instagram as unfilteredexplorations.]
Wherever I am, I enjoy especially sampling the local foods (I generally eat vegetarian - but also seafood, fish, eggs and dairy) and culture (movies, music, performances, etc.). My husband and I enjoy urban environments as well as nature - every landscape from beaches to mountains, though we definitely prefer warmer temperatures :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of variety, I especially enjoy foreign books and movies because reading/watching them is like travelling by proxy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking the Devil's Garden trail (and other places) in Arches National Park at 5am was amazing for me, because there are steep cliffs with no ropes or hooks, and narrow rock ledges with no safety restraints - and I'm not too comfortable with heights. But it was gorgeous and I was surprised at myself for going through some of the places that are waaaaayyy out of my comfort zone ;)
I also hiked the entire Annapurna circuit trail alone, and that was breathtaking!
Most recently my husband and I through-hiked the 2,192 mile Appalachian Trail.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always interested in learning new things, and willing to teach and share whatever I can - just ask!
