ABOUT ME :
The concept of “FAR FROM HERE” (www.facebook.com/MirkoBennardowanderluster) it is not limited to geographical distance from mine place of birth, but represents an unstoppable desire to travel towards others destinations as soon as I get where I want to be. It's a nomadic existence, a la constant search for new desires and venturing into uncharted territories. I left Italy seven years ago after having carried on the company together with my brother family's.

In response to an emotional crisis, I embarked on the Camino de Santiago, taking approximately 35 days to complete the journey from Port Saint-Jean to Finisterre, then extending it to Portugal and France, and finally back to Italy. Upon my return I discussed with my family the decision to leave without the certainty of a return. In a period of one month, I liquidated all my available assets, including a car purchased just 13 months earlier that I still owed money on pay off installment payments and all property.
I spent five months in Nepal for volunteer projects, I continued mine commitment to volunteering by moving to Thailand, to Phuket, where I worked for four months at a rehabilitation center for gibbons rescued from illegal trafficking. During the trip, I received a job offer from an online tour operator specialized in Italian customers wishing to visit Thailand. I chose Koh Phangan as my base of operations, a place that had inspired me intense emotions during my first solo holiday in 2016. I spent a year working online and continuing to explore Southeast Asia. Unfortunately, I have suffered a dismissal after a period of time.
I started planning to open my own travel agency but things didn't happen they were as simple as I thought so I needed more time and more funds available. I then rededicated myself to looking for employment until I have received an offer in Bangkok, where I moved in January. During this time, I worked in a travel agency during the day and provided assistance at a hostel in the evening in exchange for accommodation, in order to save on rental costs.

After just three months I lost this new job due to the pandemic and I lived in the hostel for eight months alone with the owner until I accepted a initially employed as an after-school teacher using Lego bricks, and later as a full-time teacher at an international school in Thailand. It was a long wait but less than two years later I returned to Koh Phangan where I founded Phangan Travel Thailand, tourism services and guest houses for travelers in Koh Phangan, throughout Thailand and Nepal.

Today, reflecting on the future, I shared a thought on my Instagram profile @lontanodaqui_, stating that: “change brings with it both fear and excitement.” It is known that to "see the rainbow you have to accept the rain", so if you want it authentically undertaking a change and discovering the excitement that comes with it is necessary face and overcome the fear it entails.
