About Me

I love to meet new people from different cultures and all that stereotype CS blah blah. :)

Little hint for surfers: I get a shitload of requests here and I also don't update my calendar all the time, so the hosting chances are not too high. Therefore, I don't expect you to write me a novel. But a decent profile and a personal request get you a long way. Also, please be content with a "Nope, sorry." for an explanation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I... I don't know... all these people... then there was this sudden flash of light... next thing I remember, I was on Couchsurfing.

Interests

Making our solar system a better place, becoming an ubercool person, hiking, sitting at campfires and talking about deep things, mastering life, psychology, understanding love and relationships, Zen Buddhism, learning from different cultures in general, n3rd stuff, SingStar, Speedminton, Frisbee, slackline, messing with people on art fairs

I also enjoy getting to know cool people deep down and learn about their approach to life in general and everything in particular. I love being asked for my opinion on big questions. I also love giving my opinion without being asked for it but I am working on that.

I don't reeeeally like going to places like bars, pubs, clubs, and discos, I'm afraid. I can make bars and pubs work if you're totally into it but clubs and discos are out of the question, except if there's metal. I prefer spending the evening in a park, on a beach, at a campfire or at home watching a movie or sitting on the floor and chat.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Metal, Rock, Jazz and unusual music. In general, I enjoy suggesting songs to each other with people who have a similar taste.

Favorite movieses: Ex Machina, Kung Fury, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Iron Sky, Kick Ass, Victoria

The best books I've read are probably "If you meet Buddha on the Road, kill him" by Sheldon Kopp, "Anger" by Thich Nhat Hanh and "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho (didn't like the ending though). Also, I think everything on WaitButWhy.com qualifies as a supernice bookish experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For the girls reading this: Together with my brother, I once rescued a little bird baby in the garden of our parents' house. We kept picking it up and holding it high until it could fly on its own. Later that year, such a bird kept coming to the house.

For my generation reading this: I collected all 120 stars in Super Mario 64!

For the men reading this: I peed from the Verzasca dam!

For the travelers reading this: I hitchhoke in a military convoy!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Science!, electronics, German and happiness.

I always wanted to learn how to play the drums and now I managed to get my fingers on an e-drum-kit. Huge plus on hosting probability if you can teach me.

Then, I would like to learn stuff about psychology, fighting sports, also Russian and French but you will have to enforce it upon me since I keep falling back to the languages I speak better.

I feel like here is a nice place to check if you actually read my profile. Please tell me your favorite song in your request. I didn't want to let it come to this but we Berliners get just so many requests, we have to filter somehow. (I won't judge by music taste, I just want to see if you read this part. And I want to judge your music taste :D)

Unfortunately I have a digestion issue and there are many things I cannot eat. I can gladly share my meals with you but I won't let you cook for me. Also, please don't bring anything to eat or drink as small presents, I'm ok without small presents. Just be awesome.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Knowledge, experience, stories and all those cliché things

I also like fixing stuff at peoples houses that they don't get to do because they keep procrastinating away from it. It allows me to show off with my everyday life engineering skillz and I hope it makes me a cool guest ;-)
