About Me

ABOUT ME

I can be very energetic and lively, I like long-distance running and mountains (unfortunately there are none in Hamburg). If I'm new to a city I love to discover it running and walking.
Normally I get along with most people and can have a good time but I often also have bad mood swings and can be quite pessimistic (although normally not while travelling).
Perhaps I'm a bit individualistic because I don't like others to make too many decisions for me and be in too large groups.

PHILOSOPHY

I am not a fan of generalized worldyl wisdoms. I don't like to take radical posistions but rather try to balance them out and find a moderate way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started hosting people in Berlin. Before I only lived in cities nobody wanted to visit. Since I've moved to Hamburg in 2012 I've been moving around a lot and have only hosted twice since then. But now I have the possibility and would like to host maybe once a month. I surfed in Copenhagen, Stockholm, Teneriffa, Verona, Sicily and Scotland and all those people were so wonderful and friendy.
I used to go to some CS meetings but not so much lately.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Almost exclusively positive ones, as a host and as a surfer. CouchSurfer are mostly like AEGEE people: open minded, curious and always up for sth exciting.

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I listen to depends on my mood and circumstances but mainly it would be considered Indie Rock.
Rather slow and emotional like Arcade Fire, The XX, Metric, Regina Spektor, Florence and the Machine, Tegan and Sara The Notwist, Erin McKeown...
but also more danceable or elctronic acts like LCS Soundsystem, Fischerspooner, Hot Chip, Moderat, Foals, Yacht, Yeasayer, Metronomy, C2C..
or all time classics like Radiohead, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, The Smiths...
In the morning I often listen to classical music and when I'm going out it can be also Electro, Drum n' Bass
I'm always happy if someone has some new suggestions for me.
I mainly read journals and non-fiction but I also read some classics and modern fiction, I especially like Chuck Palahniuk and Nick Hornby.
I watch a lot of TV series lately. I never miss an episode of Daily Show or Colbert Report and I've seen most of the "usuals" (The Simpsons, Futurama, South Park, HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, Lost, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones).
I haven't been watching a lot of movies lately and I cannot remember all of the ones I liked

V for Vendetta, Fight Club, American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Donnie Darko, American History X, La Vita è bella, Scott Pilgrim vs. the world, Kick Ass, Lammbock, Thank you for Smoking, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fargo,,Being John Malkovich,The Life of Brian,The Big Lebowski,In Bruges...
