ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Miroslav Macko, I was born in Topoľčany - small city in western Slovakia. I lived almost my whole live in Bratislava - the capital city of Slovakia. I study nuclear and subnuclear physics on Comenius university here in Bratislava. Some people may find this very boring but I think it is one of the most exciting things in the world. I´m quite calm person with friendly attitude to others who are friendly to me :D

PHILOSOPHY

1. There is nothing unreachable if people would be nice to each other.

2. One of my life targets is to spread knowledge which is sometimes very distant for people because they consider it as difficult and show them that physics and science has its inner beauty, even though, it does not look like on the first sight.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, now I am not having available couch but in case of interest I can meet you traveller and show you our small city (Bratislava) and spend a day with you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have already surfed twice in Tampere and Paris and it was really astonishing.

Interests

I like travelling a lot and I´ve already traveled almost the whole Europe. I prefer traveling by trains because it is much funnier. I also play the guitar a little. I like mathematics and physics too - despite the fact it is my field of study :D

Music, Movies, and Books

I am really not sure how to define my favourite books and movies. Even music. Because I am opened to any style and I usually listen to music which draws my attention or brings me some memories.

From movies I would say that I prefer crazy comedies like Dumb and dumber or Borat etc. Anythng with ridiculos (I would say Simpson´s or Family guy style humor). But on the other hand I like also movies with some idea which make you think about things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did internship in CERN (ISOLDE experiment) in summer 2014.

I swam in Arctic ocean in Bugoynes (Norway).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach, talk and share my knowledge about physics. I am happy to talk about that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I like the most is sharing my culture! I like to talk about Slovaks, what we do right, what we do wrong. About history (our thousand years of slavery, communism and independence). About nice places. I like to change (or confirm :D :D :D) people´s view on something what they call "Eastern Europe".
