About Me

CURRENT MISSION

There is no current mission only a life-going mission - enjoying all aspects of life, and not only the good ones!

ABOUT ME

I don't know. A regular homo sapiens...
OK, here's a short intro why I became interested in couchsurfing. Since I came from Serbia to Canada, I started appreciating aspects of social living thaa I have left behind more than ever.
I came from the culture where you can still talk with a cashier in the supermarket about his/your life problems, where the people in the bakery will tell you whats fresh and whats not and than complain about how little money they make, where you can have a drink in a cafe where the music is so loud you cannot hear yourself speaking but still be able to enjoy it, where people laugh and smile when something is funny and have a grim face when something is troubling them... It is still a place where you can drink without imposed limits, where you can freely hold your beer can in the park, where you can still smoke everywhere (inside, outside, whenever, wherever)
My appreciation of these aspects became stronger than ever since, and is even emphasized, in the alienated capitalistic and consumerist surrounding. It is mainly because you can compare the opposites...But it seems like that moving towards one makes you losing something of the other and vice-versa...
Therefore, I think that couchsurfing still provides a glimpse of this social living aspect where people are interested in sharing - sharing space, sharing interest, sharing opinions, sharing meals, sharing fun, sharing a part of their life...

PHILOSOPHY

I am not sure I found any yet - maybe come as you are.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to rest, I like to work, I like to bike, I like to take a walk, I like to like...
I like music, I like making music, I like performing music, I like when the crowd is dancing, I like to like...
I like to go places, I like to see places, I like places, I like faces, I like to like...
I like to talk, I like to listen, I like silence, I like the noise, I like to like...
I like cities, I like nature, I like gestures, I like, I like to dislike too many likes...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far only positive stuff I have to say about it...that's why I'm still here...

Interests

Music...That's a big thing...then a lot of different stuff.
This are the bands that I was in (and am working towards creating a new one in a new setting):

Music, Movies, and Books

A lot of everything...
Music: Joy Division, ESG, Liquid Liquid, Suicide, Fela Kuti, Siouxie and The Banshees, Talking Heads, Tricky, The Creatures, Kraftwerk, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, She Wants Revenge, The Birthday Party, early New Order, A Certain Ratio, Bauhaus, Au Pairs, Bush Tetras, Gang of Four, Iggy & The Stooges, Laika, Pixies, The Breeders, Ramones, Sonic Youth, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Maximum Joy, Public Image Ltd, James Chance and The Contortions, Stranglers, Mano Negra, B-52's, Lou Reed, Borghesia, Laibach, Chemical Brothers, Can, Einsturzende Neubauten, The Residents, LCD Soundsystem, Tom Ze, Nina Simone..
Movies: I will list mainly directors because all of them made some amazing movies - Stanley Cubrick, Martin Scorcesse, Brian de Palma, David Lynch, Jim Jarmusch, Frederico Fellini, Robert Altman, Roberto Begnini, Akiro Kurosawa, Lars von Trier, Ingmar Bergman, Pedro Almodovar, Emir Kusturica, a lot of small, independent authors and of course, amazing Danish TV series (Forbrydelsen, Borgen, The Bridge). And TV shows from all over the world.
Books: Books are more my wife's thing. But Fyodor Dostoyevski is my favourite all time writer. And 1984 by George Orwell - it's funy but I find citing that book more and more often (it perfectly applies to a lot of situations. I guess that the modern age is not so modern after all.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I cannot qualify my experiences by level of amazingness... I had great experiences, I had shitty experiences, I had neutral experiences - somehow they all mean something and they all are parts of this amazing phenomenon called - LIFE ...Moreover, my emphasis is more on thousands of regular everyday things I see or do or that just happen...

Teach, Learn, Share

I am everything - I share, I am altruistic, I am emphatetic, I am selfless...but sometimes I am also selfish, cynical and egocentric...Trying to nurture more of the first-mentioned attributes but sometimes you have to express your other side.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share fun, talks, music, walks, drinks, deep conversations, shallow conversations, time...
