About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Do what makes me tick.
ABOUT ME
Mellow, down-to-earth individual with a good deal of drive but not always as much direction. Generally lousy time management skills and usually a desire to do more than the 24 allow. Curious, I try to stay quiet and listen if I have no clue about the topic instead of flailing around with half-witted semantically blown-up statements...even though I have had my share of that as well :). I love moving around, traveling, walking, running, sight-seeing and hiking. Singing is a passion of mine that I try to indulge in every day no matter the circumstances. I also like to cook, i.e. I start hacking away with a knife and tossing UFOs in a pan and try to convince myself that I know what's going on and that I'm in control. More often than not however, I am successful with it. Relaxed and friendly demeanour, I wouldn't hurt a fly...unless I wanted to eat it, which in the end wouldn't be such a horrible ideas, eating insects that is. They are way more energy efficient and a good deal less sentient than their four-legged protein-source counterparts.
PHILOSOPHY
At some point, I wrote these rules down and pinned them to my wall. I try to stick to them and update them if necessary:
1) Always try to enforce these 5 rules. Why 5? 7 or more is too many, 3 or less is too few [ ( 7 + 3 ) / 2 = 5 ]
2) Be curious. There are no stupid questions, only stupid people that do not ask questions :)
3) Don't be lazy. Nothing every got itself done of its own accord.
4) Focus...but not too much. Focus -> things get done. Lack thereof -> creativity and ideas.
5) Listen closely to yourself. Nobody else has more access to you than you do yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I have mostly only surfed, but recently my living conditions have changed and it might soon (or already) be very possible to host, on occasion, and I'm really looking forward to that. It's always great to meet new people and hear new stories.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Only a few, but all greatly exceeding my expectations. There's a goodness in people one doesn't get to experience so often on "conventional" travels.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I'm a really big fan of Documentaries and I believe I've watched more of those than any other film. I also spend a lot of time on Youtube following various educational channels. On the more orthodox side of the topic "Movies", I recently watched Antichrist from Lars von Trier and really appreciated the composition of the images. "The Man from Earth" is within my favourites and for some reason (maybe the cast), I have watched "The Departed" 6 times already and would watch it again any time. "Planet Terror" from the "Grindhouse" duo is another one that I really don't see myself getting bored with.
Music: Hmm, at work, where I need to focus, I usually listen to some kind of Noise/Ambient/Minimalist/Downtempo music. At home it really varies..Massive Attack, Russian Circles, 65 days of static, Pink Floyd ( all these thanks to my girlfriend :) ), Jazzual Suspects, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones...and oftentimes I do like to go onto youtube and listen to covers of top pop hits, looking for people who manage to reinterpret the songs in interesting ways.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I really enjoyed waking up next to the river in Verona on a beautiful summer's morning, making music using "forks and spoons" on the sidewalks of Portorož, and the feeling one gets when one sits down after a long hike :).
