About Me
I am traveling around Europe until September!
I am from US, a San Francisco native, my grandmother (on my mom's side) immigrated from Japan after WWII. My dad was a transplant that found his way to SF during his hippy days for college.
Lived in Hawaii (maui & oahu) right out of high school, went to college out there, after 7 years came back to SF.
In 2008 i went on a 2 month epic trip through SE Asia. Now this summer (2018) i will be traveling Europe for 2.5 months! France, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Slovenia, Montenegro, Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Netherlands, Northern Germany, Denmark are my target countries to visit this trip. I’ll probably have to narrow it down a little!
I’m very much into sustainable food systems and food justice. I worked for 9.5 years with an established restaurant group in SF, that has its own farm. So food, beverage, hospitality is definitely a passion of mine. When i travel I love seeking out like minded restaurants, or immersing myself in other food cultures.
Another interest of mine is contemporary fusion belly dance, which I’ve also been studying on and off for 9.5 years! I recently started teaching.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with locals and gain a different experience when traveling, than I would from staying at hostels or hotels. Make new friends!
