About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stay "awake"

ABOUT ME

I'm a Russian-born American, American- dwelling Russian, pack my things in a car and ditch town freelancer, meat eating vegetarian, extraverted hermit, workaholic bum.

I grew up in Memphis, TN, finished cinema school in Los Angeles, moved out to New York, and now find myself in Atlanta, Georgia on a work gig. Wherever I live, I seek sincerity, corners of quiet where to recharge and remind myself that all's good, always. I come alive when meeting genuine people willing to talk and listen. Bikram Yoga is my drug of choice: taken in small doses, it rejuvenates my mind and body in a most worthy, no bullshit manner. Seeking out and connecting to Couch Surfers has had a similar effect.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch that many movies, but enjoy a kind of eclectic assortment. Love late 90's pop movies like Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, etc. Heady classics like that of Kubrick, foreign, 60's-70's. Just discovered Abbat Kiorastami's work. Anyone who has forgotten their heart, I recommend the Iranian wonder "Color of Paradise" by Majid Majidi.

BOOKS:
Alan Watts is my guru. I seek books that help me grow, but am cautious of the self-help genre. I also feel the responsibility to catch up on classics (I've been listening to Brothers Karamazov for a year now on audiobook).

MUSIC:
Its all about Reggae now: Groundation, Black Uhuru, Israeli Vibration, the Marley's; Also anything obscure or flolksy: Huun Huur Tu, Dylan, Tim Buckely, Jeff Buckley, and ofcouse Radiohead. There are more...
