About Me

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY WITHOUT READING:

My wife and I love to host extraordinary people with great travel stories and experience. However, due to the overwhelming number of requests - we get several dozen requests per day! (We didn't know our couch is so well loved), we need to be more strict as for who will be staying with us.

To make our selection process a bit easier, in your Couchsurfing request, please indicate at least three (3) different and unique reasons why we should host you. Also include one (1) thing that we will learn from you (please don't include cooking as we won't want you to stay in to cook for us - this is New York, after all with world class restaurants).

Points go to those couchsurfers that sign up for my webblog: www.MyCheapBastards.com by putting in your email in the box in the top right hand portion of the screen and then clicking the link in the email in your inbox.

For those of you who are carpet bombing NYC, without reading the host profiles, shame on you. Our thought is that if you are a true CouchSurfer, you should want to get to know your hosts and a good start would be to read what they write. If you fail to follow these guidelines, I will send you a polite, but vague rejection, which will say:

"Thank you for requesting to surf my couch. After reading your request, unfortunately, I do not think that my couch is a good fit for you. Best of luck finding another person's couch to surf, and I hope that you enjoy your trip to NYC."

If you are reading this profile description after being rejected, I'm sorry, and please do not re-apply to surf my couch.
