About Me

ABOUT ME

It's hard to write something about oneself that doesn't sound like a cliché or that hasn't been written a gazillion times before by other users. Also, let's face it, a few sentences are just not enough to comprise the full complexity of one's personality. So I leave it to others to speak their mind about me...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a backpacking trip through Western Europe back in 2011 that lasted about three months. I hitchhiked and couchsurfed my way up to Loch Ness and would've headed further to Ireland if I hadn't run out of money. It was a grand journey nevertheless, one rich in amazing experiences and memorable encounters.

Interests

I have rather recently discovered my passion for traveling and am planning to nourish that passion as often as I possibly can in the future.
Generally I'm interested in different kinds of sports and all sort of outdoorsy stuff. I've been practicing yoga for about 10 years now and I recently started climbing.
I love going to the movies or take pictures with my camera.
I'm also trying to learn to play the guitar at the moment, so if anybody wants to help with that, I wouldn't mind ;)
I'm vegetarian and love to try out new recipes or mix my own smoothies and milkshakes.
Attending festivals or going to the theater is also something I enjoy doing although I don't get around to doing it as often as I would like to.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all books by Jonathan Safran Foer, especially "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close", which is one of only a few books I've read multiple times.
I love "Alice in Wonderland", because of its numerous hilarious puns and riddles.

Musicwise I enjoy listening to Chet Faker, The Black Keys, Portishead, Bon Iver, Waldeck, Feist, Gossip, Fink, Florence + The Machine, Die Antwoord, Dillon, Ibeyi, everything by or with Jack White, Rodriguez, St. Vincent, Lorde, Joze Gonzalez and many many more.

Listing movies would be a neverending story, so I'll only mention a few ones of my alltime favorites: 12 years a slave, Pan's Labyrinth, La vita è bella, American beauty, Memento, Closer.
