About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Everybody should have the chance to see as much of the world as (s)he is interested in and that there cease to be boundaries, no matter if geographical, financial, or of other kinds, that limit this in any way!
ABOUT ME
I'm Viktoria, called "Viki" by most people.
In the summer of 2008 I came back to my home - country, Austria, after a year in the United States. I was born in Brunn am Gebirge, a "suburb" of Vienna and I spent all my life there until that year in Indiana. Now I see everything here with different eyes, and I love living in Vienna more than before.
I am kind of out of the ordinary...but who isn't :)
I am interested in many different fields, but the only thing I chose to get perfect in is classical singing (& acting). I hope that can make a living with it some day.
I used to be a pescetarian. But I don't eat fish very often either. Except Sushi, I love it! But I like being flexible and open and I believe in "having phases". I still don't like cars and don't have a license. I prefer getting around just by riding my bike(s) or using public transport. In the US that wasn't that easy sometimes, but it was still possible, even in LA! Fortunately in Vienna this is what most people do and it's very convenient.
I am very happy with my boyfriend Dietmar, who I met in the summer of 2011 while we both were singing in a opera production in Germany.
I like nature and being outside.
I play piano, the Steirische Harmonika and all kinds of flutes. I have 3 little brothers (who have outgrown me already years ago).
I miss the American soymilk. It tastes so much better! I like cats. But I don't have any. ;(
I love speaking English but I will probably never lose my accent.
Oh, and if you're searching for "Viktoria Car" on youtube, you'll find some excerpts about my musical activities...
PHILOSOPHY
Love is all there is
Energy flows where attention goes
You get what you give
Minds are like parachutes...they work best, when open!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am very excited to host people as it's not very long ago that I was a surfer for 4 weeks in LA and NY myself.
I experienced so much hospitality and I want to pass it on as good as I can. I plan to host as many people as possible but it depends on my schedule how many people I can fit in :) I'm very sorry that I can't be in Vienna more than half of my time, as I'm living in Hannover as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had a couple of couchsurfing experiences yet, and I think it is one of the awesomest things I've ever heard of!
I've stayed with a great guy in Orlando for Spring break and I'm really highly inspired by how much he did for his guests. I also spent a whole month couchsurf-travelling in LA, San Diego and NYC and every host was awesome!!
And I've been on an awesome trip through California with my brother and met so many nice couchsurfing-people there - it was wonderful!
I also hosted very nice people, 2 of them had become longer - term roommates once, which was nice too.
Before that I've been a member of SERVAS for a long time, what's basically the same thing, just that most hosts are a bit older and it's not running via Internet, but more oldfashioned with printed host-lists handed out to the members. But still, it's the same idea and I've stayed with 2 families in London that way and we had several people at our place in Austria: Australian, British, African,...
I'm glad that I have found now this even easier and "younger" possibility to explore the world here with coachsurfing :)
