ABOUT ME

I'm a performance artist, book maker, and writer from California. I have a quirky sense of humor, a lust for anything new, and some seriously slick dance moves! I've traveled a lot but am no tourist! Rather than just vacationing and seeing the sites, when I travel my goal is to meet new people, respectfully appreciate the local culture, and discover new, exciting experiences- the kind that only come from globe trotting.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had wonderful experiences through CouchSurfing in Iceland, Costa Rica, and elsewhere! Because of couch surfing, I've slept on a glacier, lived in a convent, journeyed to the heart of the rain forest, and made friends who I will cherish for the rest of my life. It's a great tool for meeting new people and seeing new places! Yes, it's lovely to not have to pay for a hotel but the real reward of couch surfing for me is meeting new friends who I wouldn't otherwise get the privilege of meeting! Those experiences are invaluable!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once hosted a beauty pageant and fashion show in Berlin, a slumber party in Ikea, lived in a cocoon made of textiles in a public park in San Francisco, and got married to 20 friends, a llama and a slice of pie... among other things! You can see some of my work at MirabelleJones.com

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach English, so I'm more than happy to help pass on my knowledge even if I can't do it as a profession anymore. I know how to program music electronically, make books (binding / printing), use Photoshop, build web sites, and make some A++ food!
