About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet lots of new people!

ABOUT ME

I'm French but these days, I'm really quite British. My accent is (nearly) gone, and I consider myself culturally slightly closer to my British friends than my loved ones back "home"!

I have been in the UK for 12 years, and I've lived in a few different places in the South West. I'm now based in Tewkesbury, where I live with my two cats - but I spend a lot of time in Cheltenham, and I work in Gloucester.

I'm very outgoing, love nothing more than to make others smile or laugh! I can be a little irreverent at times, and a real potty-mouth...!

PHILOSOPHY
I always try to see the best in people, and try not to worry about what other people think. Tough at times, but I will master it one day! I believe that we are all human beings first and I don't get why some of us who were born in "free" countries should be the only ones allowed the luxury of a decent life... Let's discuss and debate this!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a small town so I am not sure if my location is very practical for couch surfers... But I do have a couple of sofas an air bed, and plenty of floor space! I would love to host. - guests would have to accept the possibility of my blind cat walking on their head in the middle of the night though ;)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't hosted yet, and I've only been a guest once - but it was a lovely experience.
I regularly meet with couchsurfers in Cheltenham, and I've made new friends that way - I love meeting other open-minded, culturally diverse people.

Interests

I love: meeting new people, going to gigs, going out dancing, coffee, reading fiction, cuddling up in front of the TV, exploring new places, gin, baking, contemporary dance, weekends away, salsa dancing, languages, Slovakian bubbly, comedy, cooking for friends, playing board games, country walks, bbqs, drawing or painting, dancing around in my lounge, singing, interior design.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love music - I am addicted to Spotify. Musicians I like include Regina Spektor, Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Tom McRae, but also Justin Timberlake, AlunaGeorge, Emilie Simon, Ben Howard, Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley, the Weeknd, 20syl, Alt-J, Marian Hill, Kent, Archive, the Civil Wars, Keaton Henson, Lisa Hannigan...

In terms of books I really enjoy contemporary fiction - Sarah Waters or Rose Tremain are favourite authors of mine. I have quite a few books which guests would be more than welcome to borrow!

Films - anything but horror!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Berlin wall - I was living in Berlin when it came down. I was very young and didn't understand it well, but looking back it was pretty amazing to be part of such history.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach French but gave it up in 2009.. I would be happy to help anyone who already speaks a bit of French and wants to improve.
I love baking too, and I could teach how to make lovely madeleines any time :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Funny anecdotes, a home-cooked meal or take away, my time!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
