About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Oh-oh. To find myself. Elusive little bugger. I'm sure I'm hiding behind a tree somewhere.
ABOUT ME
Been on the road for coming on two years - this time. Initial plans to visit Central America became five months underwater and overland through S.E.Asia, a month up and down the California coast, five months through Central Am, up to Cuba and back for Fidel's belated birthday, a fast paced month on the road through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina, followed by Colombia and a lazy two weeks sweating and swinging in my hammock down the Amazon, another month through Brazil then up to San Francisco. Ooooo.... I is tired!
Must've got hijacked on the Road of Love - I languished in The City Of All Things Rainbow-Like for months on end. A quick trip up to Canada and onto Alaska, then back to the Rainbow Vortex. Who said black holes had to be black?
Then; Montreal.
So, now it's time to put the bank at ease; then I can get my butt cheeks back on the road and do it all over again. Working through my Canadian work visa, so I will be between here and San Fran, where I have found a wonderful, challenging, and frustrating thing that sounds like wuv. Saving up some moula for a three month horsie ride across the Mongolian plains where I can sit on a horse for weeks on end pondering the wonderful, challenging and frustrating.

Vagabonding has always been, and always will be, a part of my essential (way of) being.

PHILOSOPHY
To thine own self be true
I place more importance on the lines before this one, as Shakespeare wrote them. But I have struggled with THIS line in the past and now my little inner victories everyday keep me moving forward so that I might be able to honor the rest of the text.
Bloody Shakespeare.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Apologies for not being a fully validated couchsurfing individual. Damn. Not good. I need to stay in one spot.
At the moment I am on the road, so do not have a couch to offer, so I spread the Couchsurfing gospel word to the worthy.
When I put down roots I look forward to returning the hospitality that I have seen from Brazil to Alaska.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed in Brazil, Canada and the States: California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Fear and Loathing over and over, Stand By Me, Reservoir Dogs, Human Traffic (NICE one bruvva!), Trainspotting, Pulp Fiction... and I was recently introduced to Harold and Maude: FANTASTIC.
Music: Anyone else's (been listening to the same downloaded ipod tunes for the last year and a half. Somebody SAVE ME. Please.)
Update: Thanks (er...) to Denis in Montreal, my ipod is now filled with a random array of tunes... So he tells me. My screen is broken, so I can't choose the song, and have it on random instead. Now I seem to consistently get not-so-random 'folk wailing' in a strange language, interspersed with breaks and electronica. Ask and ye shall receive...
...Please God, give me Depeche Mode, Stereophonics, Bush, U2, The Killers, Blue October, Ben Harper, Hunters and Collectors and Danny Tenaglia remixes. Oh, and John Denver. Amen.
Books: Most of Will Self, Irvine Welsh, Hunter S. Thompson, Pablo Neruda
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited that quaint little place called Love. I hope to be blessed enough to have the opportunity to go back someday.
If you decide to go - as a tip, warm clothes are not required. Just remember to pack plenty of sticky tape.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I try to explain to people when I get up on my little couchsurfin pulpit, beer in hand - Couchsurfing is, never was, and never will be about a cheap bed.
Let's be honest, when you couchsurf, you will end up spending that money that you might have spent on a hostel bed, anyways - but you will do it eating at your host's favourite hangout, drinking beer with their friends, and sharing amazing home-grown experiences, in a local context, that you just couldn't find in the dorms of a hostel.
