Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Having fun wherever I am, whatever I'm doing, whoever I'm with.
ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty normal person. I'm an American graduate student living in Italy and studying cognitive neuroscience, which, I suppose, would mean that I'm not normal at all.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm an overthinker, so I'll try to keep this brief. More than anything else, I try not to judge myself. I know that probably sounds egotistical and unbalanced, but I think that a lot of negative engery in the world comes from people being unhappy with themselves. When you say to yourself that a particular behavior or thought is wrong for you, then it's not a big step to say that it's wrong for someone else, too. But when you say to yourself, I think I'll do this today and maybe the opposite tomorrow and both are alright, then it follows that other people in the world can do or think as they wish. Inner peace, outer peace; Inner love, outer love.Oh well. You see? I've already said too much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to Couchsurf when I travel by myself, but mostly I like to host people and go to meetups. I really enjoy the community aspect of Couchsurfing. My career as a researcher makes me move a lot, and Couchsurfing has helped me find friends in the craziest places.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My CS experiences have been largely positive. There are so many neat people in the world! And I'm happy and excited to meet more of them.
Interests
I'm interested in exchanging food, stories, and cultural oddities with everyone around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Lately, I've been into a lot of electronic (Glitch Mob, Parov Stelar) and classical music (Ahn Trio, anything by Elgar). But I also have a long-standing romance with classic rock (the Rolling Stones have a song for every occasion).Movies: I appreciate quality cinema, but mostly I like movies that make me smile. That having been said, I especially like the Coen brothers' films.Books: My favorite authors are John Steinbeck and Douglas Adams. And I tend to use their books as a sort of measuring stick for all other literature. (Sorry, literary world.)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen a lot, I've done a lot, but I wouldn't call anything I've seen or done "amazing". In my life, the most amazing thing is love. Cliché, right? But please, I can explain. There are two people in this world that I would consider to be my "best friends". What amazes me is how much I love them, and how much they love me back. I live very far away from both of them, and we don't even get to talk that often. But whenever I see these people, I am still overwhelmed with warmth and happiness. To me, that's just incredible.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love stories. Oh please, please tell me a story when I meet you!
