Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in NYC and will always love this crazy city, even knowing that sometimes you have to get away from it and see some new things.
Travelling is my first true love. I served in the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso 2006-08. After that, I spent five years in Baltimore working in clinical research and studying to become a nurse. After graduating from nursing school, I moved back to NYC because I finally and truly missed my hometown. Now, I am luck enough to combine two of my passions: nursing and travel and I am working as a L&D nurse in northern California.
That's the abridged story. :)
i'm constantly revising my personal philosophy. however, being happy with and thankful for what you have is a good place to start from - life is too short to do otherwise!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love connecting with people and exploring the world - even if it's my own city.
I haven't participated much lately. I've couchsurfed a few times and have made a few friends through CS. I was lucky enough to find that some of my friends were already on CS (how convenient!).
Interests
languages, good food, dancing, learning/seeing/trying new things... but of all things, i think that people and their stories are my favorite.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music and reading, but this box could be filled with anything depending on my mood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been blessed with a rich life. One of the coolest things I've done was live in a mud brick hut in the West African desert for 2+ years.
I just graduated from nursing school, so the wonder in my life lately has been working with patients and slowly cultivating a career in health/healing. Wonders can be found close to home, too. :)
Teach, Learn, Share
i would really like to keep up my languages skills, so anyone who wants to practice arabic, spanish and french (or even fulfulde) is welcome! i wouldn't mind adding new languages either. :) we could do a language trade... oh, and i love love love to dance! (flamenco or tango, anyone?) i am open-minded and am willing to try anything at least once.
