CURRENT MISSION

Left my bonnie home of Scotland to get to New Zealand without flying... I made it as far as Brisbane! That last little bit has irked me to the core, so am sailing back up to the wonderful choas of South Asia, to record the magical music and lingos...

ABOUT ME

I'm a ridiculously tall woman, I say this first as this will probably be the first thing you notice. I've had the fantastical notion of travelling the world by land and sea since I was 12, and recently i thought 'Now or Never!', hence doing it now. I have little resources other than my trusty green bag, battered boots and my ability to use many adjectives to ultimately say very little.

I've spent the last 10 years working with people who have been let down by society. It has taken it's toll and so I am starting life out anew, afresh, excited!

Roll on 2and a half years later... My faith in humanity is completely restored! My energy is back! After a wonderful 2 years in New Zealand, I am ready to face the world and sea again.

PHILOSOPHY

our life is but a flicker of time on this earth, and we would do well to remember that and make the most of it! I would much rather regret doing something, than not having done it, but this is easier said than done!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hitchhiked once from Vancouver to Mexico and somewhere in between an old Native American Elder from the Yurok tribe picked me up and insisted I slept that night on his couch in his trailer. I spent the night in a cloud of cigarette smoke and was treated to some waffles the next morning. That old man trusted me and I him even though we were from different worlds. That experience completely restored my faith humanity and made me remember the world is in fact a beautiful place.

playing and listening to music, tapping my toes and sometimes dancing around, talking to people about anything, grand old decaying buildings, being out of the city and looking at trees, cycling, cycling! Changes regularly

音乐、电影和书籍

I like funk, punk, rock, jazz, latin, folk, ska, country, soul, anything with a certain tempo really - ie fast! unless i'm trying to chill out - reggae, classical (esp Bach!) Not much of a fan of hiphop, i don't like biatch and ho this and that, I just don't get it or see the point. not a massive fan of trance or gabba or anything electronic with a relentless bassline, does my head in!

books I've enjoyed most have been by Orwell, Che, Castaneda, Welsh, Burton, Dahl, to name a few. Also secrelty a fan of graphic novels, Preacher + Sandman = underestimated pieces of genius!

Movies - anything that makes me laugh or changes my perceptions or beliefs about something. It always amazes me how some films can be pure crap and a waste of 2 hours of your life, while others can stay inside your head for days and really make you question things. Not a fan of horror. The thought of sitting on edge biting my nails for 2 hours scares me in itself!
