About Me

CURRENT MISSION

"live deliberately, front the essential facts of life and see if I could not learn what it had to teach and not when I came to die, discover, that I had not lived"...(Henry David Thoreau, Walden)

ABOUT ME

Well I 'm in my thirties and have seen a little of the world trying to make it more in the future...My roots are from many places in the world such as America- Dominican Republic- Puerto Rico, Scandinavia, Iceland, Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Germany and as I've been told way back one Asian Person too ;). So I'm a MultiCulti Person trying to find where I belong within my heart, while looking just like an average Geman. I'm very open minded for cultures mostly w/o violence and I most definitely like to meet new people...I'm proud of my city even though I don't feel the patriotism for my country as most people do for theirs and I think that evolves from my background ;) . There is a lot more about me, but I think it's weird writing all the (what you think about yourself) good traits you own without sounding cocky...well ok I've been told I have the heart in the right spot and talking straight from it without thinking sometimes, (which can be negative in work relationships oops) and good because I'm always honestly saying what I think, so people around me know what I think and feel. I think realtionships to good friends are really important in life and always looking for new people to count in. I grew up in an active family so I like talking, even while eating ;) haha, playing sports and cooking...oh and gotta love kids, I used to be a coach and babysitter and think kids are a special gift as well as our future, so it's important to educate them...and I thank my family for all the education I got...

PHILOSOPHY

find good in everything-
enjoy your life and do the best you can to help others enjoying theirs too. I think if you realize a problem and don't do anything to at least try to solve it, you are part of the problem...so I would say I live my life trying to help people realize the important things in life and focus mostly on the good and essential and try to get rid of the negative. Cause every life has its right to be there and therefore needs to be respected.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Yah so I had some folks at my place already and that was interesting...but met even more people which my bro had at his place a few years ago. They were a lot of fun and from many different places...the most interesting so far I must admit was Somen Debnat, maybe you've heard about him, if you haven't shame on you lol...just kidding but you should definitely look him up, very inspiring ;)

On a road trip (with my mom) around the USA West Coast 2014 I stayed at some ppls places and it was a neat and interesting experience...
During a short trip with a friend to NYC in 2016 we also stayed in an interesting guy's place...
and I can't wait to make more great experiences during future stays wherever the path takes me ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

yeah like all of them ;)
love watching Movies and TV in general, listen to music (sometimes sing along, at least when I'm alone lol)...and I love reading good books...

so movies for me would be comedies - some fun with a little romance, guess I'm a typical girl there, but also some horror and drama. Some of my alltime favs though are "stepmom" and "remember the titans" or "the blindsight"...update from 2018 would be "a star is born"...and I always like a little critical independent movies as well.

Music: a lot from a to z, minus techno lol...appreciate a good songtext though...
love musicals and their soundtracks, does that count as a genre? ;)

and books are tough, one I remember reading from years ago which was good, was "dark water" by Cleo Virgina Andrews and during my off time in recent years I read some more easy stuff like "Are you there Vodka?it's me Chelsea" very funny...or Seriosly, i'm kidding by Ellen Degeneres. Trough my studies in English and American Literature, Cultures and Media I've read some very good and intense books with a meaning, but there are too many to count, a few of my last were "Invisible Man" by Ralph Ellison, "Native Son" by Richard Wright. Also authors like Maya Angelou are always a go...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen cool places and stuff like Niagara falls, The CN Tower in Toronto, seen a whale in its nature, met Steven Tyler when passing Trump Tower in NYC and lots more...I've been an exchange student for one year (going to High School in Maryland), that was pretty cool too and (being a girl) I was a cheerleader for 16 yrs and won nationalchampionships once, became 2nd and 3rd a couple times, and cheered at european and world competition one year...
The summer of 2014 I went on a Roadtrip (with my mom) around NV/UT/AZ/CA and I saw so many amazing places (after our first Roadtrip aroud the East Coast in 2010). I fell in love with Utah. Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park were definitely some highlights, also Upper Anteloupe Canyon in AZ, Grand Canyon, Lake Powell and almost every place around the Coast from LA to SF were awesome. Driving on PCH took a while but Big Sur, Pfeiffer Beach and watching Whales at the coast were sooo inspiring, I definitely plan on going back, hopefully to all those places. Update (2019): went back to some of those places. Different route this time. Seattle to LA, great Couch Surfers as Hosts in Seattle. Man that City is awesome, Underground Tour is a must see...and oh boy don't even get me started on Washington's Olympic National Park and the whole way down the West Coast. Redwood Forrests are insanely beautiful and so impressive. Again I will be back, hopefully some time soon after Covid.
