About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a programmer working for a big international company in Bavaria. Much more than office work I enjoy hiking, photography and traveling. I have seen quite a few different countries, but that does not keep my must-see countries-list from growing! I enjoy history, guide tours around my town and can host up to two people at a time!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a couple of people at my home and have stayed at other couchsurfers' houses. I think it is a great opportunity to experience new places from an unusual (often open only to locals) perspective.

Interests

My biggest passion is landscape and urban photography. I keep my personal photography blog where I post reports on the trips I make. Apart from photography, I enjoy history, rock music and hiking.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I have ever done was hitchhiking in Albania. After half an hour on the road, a driver rolled by and out of the blue asked me where I came from. I did not respond, but he kept asking. "Deutsch?", he said, and I decided to agree. He literally threw me in his cab where his wife had already been sitting, and in a few German words he knew he told me we would drive by his place on the way to the town and drink some coffee. I was slightly afraid, but the driver looked so kind, that I subconsciously trusted him. We stopped at his house, drank coffee, he presented me with grapes from his garden, introduced me to his family, which was, of course, very large, and in half an hour we drove on. That was the most pleasant drive I had ever had!
