ABOUT ME

Life's pretty amazing at the moment! I'm a busy, busy woman - I suppose that's the first thing anyone would say about me. I love learning from others, but I've also grown leaps and bounds in this last year and would like to think I have a bit to share as well. I LOVE exploring and not knowing what to expect and I've led a pretty interesting (and sometimes weird) life because of that.

Right now I'm doing a double major in urban/economic geography and french at Sydney University, and I'm also the president and creative nazi of the university's photography society, which is an amazing experience. I love it!

Outside of all that my time generally goes to photography and art projects. My interests lie in social entrepreneurism, environmental justice, food production and the geography of food in general. I wouldn't say I'm a party animal but I do like a good scene...I work in a bookshop and photography; I've been doing alot of food photography recently but photojournalism's where it's at for me. I also speak alot of languages and can cook any recipe amazingly. :)

Books - The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Nieffeneger, Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro, Silk by Alessandro Baricco, Perfume by Patrick Suskind, the Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera.

Music - I listen to a pretty eclectic mix of new wave, rap, jazz and indie...My all time favourites have to be Ella Fitzgerald, Nouvelle Vague and The Cure. Other than that I go through phases; currently obsessed with lo-fi stuff with a 60's throwback like like Cults and Dom. Also loving Talking Heads, Arthur Russell, Bag Raiders, Broken Social Scene, Bebel Gilberto, The Smiths, Arcade Fire. I also listen to classical music out of habit, having played classical piano most of my life.

Movies - I don't watch movies half as often as I'd like to! But out of all the ones I've seen, Lost in Translation (and all other Sofia Coppola movies), Vicky Cristina Barcelona, City of God, Jeux d'Enfants (Love Me If You Dare), Closer, Anchorman, Eternal Sunshine on the Spotless Mind and Everything is Illuminated are a few that come to mind.

Wayy too many, and I see each experience as amazing in its own way. a few standouts:

-led a campaign against subject cuts at uni, and managed to get one crucial subject re-instated
-found a two headed turtle embryo on perhentian island, malaysia during a turtle conservation project.
-Toured with 12 'homies' from Compton documenting the Australian tour of Compton LA's cricket team!
