About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

ABOUT ME

i guess i'm of a different breed in certain ways, at least i've been told. i like the feel of the big city, but i love the comfort and warmth of the beach and mountains. i want to travel, see the world and experience all it has to offer, but i also want a husband and a couple little ones to love. i like to get outside of my comfort zone, even with those i cannot communicate with due to a language barrier, but i also love sitting next to someone i know inside out and being able to know what they're feeling or thinking. i suppose every day i am figuring more of myself out. every day i am becoming more of the person i set out to be. i used to like things, cars, apartments, clothes, houses, i didn't love them, i never thought that i couldn't live without them, but as i grow, i understand that those things are only things of this world, man created, not God created. i find myself drawn to the things of the earth, the people, the sights, the sounds, the peacefulness in a child. some people live a lifetime thinking they know everything. some people even die thinking they were always right. i know i dont know that much. i also know i'm wrong a lot. and i know that i know that i know, that all that matters in this world is those you love and that of which you believe. i am not a christian because i always do what is right or even because i know what is right, i usually don't. being a christian is a daily struggle, but i am christian because i have faith. i believe in the unknown, i believe in what i do not see. the faith in me turns my questions or worries into thin air, into beliefs. believing in the unknown is hard, not because you don't want to, but because the intelligence of this world breeds skepticism. nothing has caused the human race so much trouble as intelligence. we were made to love, to serve, to touch others hearts with our own. if you are doing that, then you are doing exactly what i intend on doing. i think at some point every one of us gets caught up in this world, waiting to get a new job, waiting for a raise, waiting to move, waiting to get married, waiting to tell someone you love them, in other words - waiting to be happy. so many of us get caught up in waiting that we forget to be here now, we forget to live. so i say live now, live for today. ignore your cell phone when you're talking to someone you love. respect someone that disrespects you. change hearts one at a time. tomorrow is not promised.

PHILOSOPHY

Let the world be yours. Let love take you and consume you all at once. Everyday is another chance to improve not only yourself, but also everything that you surround yourself with. Be simplistic. Keep in mind that we are only here, on this earth, at this place and time, for a short time, and this chance only comes once. Be a good listener. Moments end. Memories don’t.

And remember this..people often discourage you not because of what you are doing, but because you are doing something that they cannot do, you are living a dream that they are too afraid to seek themselves.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

i had Mike Pearl as my first CS'er and we met at Emart in Sokcho, South Korea. he was rad and funny, which is good because i don't like people that don't have a sense of humor. at any rate, i cooked him dinner, he fixed what i messed up, we watched seinfeld, and it was just like having an old friend crash in my living room. not weird at all. i was shocked.

Interests

Working out, relaxing, writing, taking long hot baths, helping others, seeing the world, music...Damien Rice, Amos Lee, Mazzy Star, Bon Iver, Thomas Newman, Tim McGraw, everything really, but mainly the music with some sort of meaning behind it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

Whether you are spiritual or not...this quote is amazing.

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right, and stopping the leaks in the roof, and so on: you knew that those jobs needed doing and you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably, and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”
