About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Bike through Europe, off the beaten track :)

ABOUT ME

Describing myself is definitily not my hobby. I like discovering people by myself and letting them discover me by themselves, but I'll go for a little paragraph about me.
Well I'm a little studying guy, sometimes very talkative, other times behaving like a "normal" sober person :p
I (am trying to) study electrical engineering since few years, so far I know how to change an electrical bulb and replace the batteries of my wall clock ^^ (although I never did, who needs a clock anyway?). I also started philosophy lately, let's see where it takes me.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not the kind that want to be bound to strict pre-established values or virtues, but let's say I can have a comfortable sleep if during my day I laughed at least 3 times, did some "good" actions for other people, thought and came to some "truths", overcame and reconciliated with myself, and obviously danced at least once :) "La vida es un carnaval" as the song says :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe in the right of being helped when in need. Helping without necessarily asking back, and getting help from other people without having helped them necessarily before, that is why we people live in community :)

Interests

Cycling and some other free-time sports (basketball, swimming..), watching and trying some art, dancing, singing, languages, cultures (especially the food part), meeting new people..

Music, Movies, and Books

I mostly like philosophy books and essays. The first essay I've read was "Les Identités Meurtrières" (In the Name of Identity: Violence and the Need to Belong) by Amine Maalouf, which is -sadly- still actual and contemporary.. Also liked Dostoevski's "The Brothers Karamazov", Kundera's "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" and enjoy reading poetry sometimes, French and Arab one especially.

I like some special movies, but one that kept inspiring me since years is "The Dead Poets Society". Some other movies would be Mr. Nobody, Fight Club, The Dreamers, Rain Man, The Devil's Advocate, Incendies, Vivre sa vie, La vita e bella..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Life..
- Well standing on the Acropolis in Athens too :)
- Living 6 months with nearly no internet and no mobile phone
- My association :)

Teach, Learn, Share

WARNING!! By accepting to be hosted by me, you put yourself at risk of being obliged to learn some dance, especially salsa, bachata or kizomba :D
As I am originally from Tunisia, I can also offer everything you want to know about Tunisia: from information to food, inclusive folkloristic music and dance, crash courses in Arabic (with the option tunisian dialect) as well as the other languages I speak fluently and you want to learn
In learning I'm quite interested in everything, local folklore, funny sayings, as well as everything you enjoy doing: playing some instrument, photography, dancing, drawing, sleeping.. ^^
