About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To brighten a stranger's day with a smile.

ABOUT ME

As of Monday June 15th I will no longer be hosting for the summer. I have responded to all those requesting and hosted those that replied back. Those that HAVE CONFIRMED are still a go but those that HAVE NOT will no longer be accepted. My schedule is hectic and I do not want to risk forgetting about an arrival.

I'm very laid back and always ready for an adventure. Traveling is a passion of mine. I'm always up for a nice glass of wine or a good beer when engaged in an intelligent conversation. I spend a lot of time learning new traits or hobbies with friends. I hike, kayak, rollerblade, enjoy museums, hockey, football and pretty much anything offered in the area I am in. I work in the appraisal field for a private firm that contracts with the government across the United States. I have the ability to work from home a majority of the time and that helps support my traveling so I am often out of state visiting friends or working from local coffee shops.

PHILOSOPHY

Honestly, the entire point in life is to find happiness so I make it a point to smile, say hello or engage in short conversation with almost everyone I come in contact with. You never know how bad a person's day is and how easily it is to improve it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I created a profile back in 2013 but never used it. May 2014 this year some of my travel plans changed last minute and in a pinch I opened my account back up and searched for hosts in Alaska. Up until that point I had only cohosted once and met up with travelers through hosting friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have had only positive outcomes with couchsurfing. I have met up with several hosts just to hangout and some surfers to make small adventures with while in the same area.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm like one of those nerds or geeks that can read anything from Harry Potter to the latest issue of Popular Science.
When it comes to music I know nothing except to avoid the stuff that screams at you and rap. I enjoy oldies, 80s hairbands, hip hop, country...
I watch a lot of nature doc., David Attenborough has been a huge influence with animals along with Carl Sagan for science. Absolutely love sci-fi, anime, comedies and of course all those kid animations from Disney and Pixar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There is a lot of things I have seen and done. Saved a female from drowning while Scuba diving has to be at the top though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to meet and interact with all people. Diversity makes life interesting!

I have maybe 10 states left in the US to visit so if you have questions regarding any of them upon your stay with me feel free to ask. Between traveling for fun and work I try to hit local spots and the typical tourists attractions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Making friends outside of your area can only enhance your traveling or networking later on in life. Take advantage of the opportunity to sightsee in your own area. Seeing your city/town from a traveler's eyes can also open yours.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Belize, Cayman Islands, Honduras, Japan, Mexico, Panama, South Korea
