About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning, growing, loving - my constant prayer is to be 'an instrument of your peace'. And that is with my instrument of choice, the Alto Sax, or good conversation or learning some words of a new language or in the dance, always the dance!!!
ABOUT ME
My friends would say I'm courageous and passionate, very committed to what I put my attention towards. I'm a very loving and caring friend, fun to be around and involved in interesting things in life; music, community, healing, skiing, travelling, learning about other languages and cultures. I'm learning to play a 'mean' sax and love to dance and be in nature. I feel things deeply and care about the quality of life and relationship with nature that we human 'BEINGS' create.
PHILOSOPHY
I have great passion for connection in this world - whether it is in the ecstasy of the dance, of listening to and/or playing music and speaking 'that' language, through healing work and touch, finding common ground in other cultures and speaking (even awkwardly) languages other than English, seeing and understand joy in another's eyes, (and pain as well) and sharing love of animals, communion in and with nature, the music of water/ including waterfalls ( when it rains in the grand canyon on a river trip, the canyon goes from this hard, defined masculine entity to 100's upon hundreds of waterfalls - fluid, soft and moist/luscious and oh so very feminine.), rivers, oceans. I love to ride motorcycles cause of the sensual connection to one's place and space - even have traveled by bicycle overseas for that very reason -feeling, sensing and living life fully and impassioned.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfing is such a righteous way to create a worldwide network!!! I have so enjoyed the wonderful people I've hosted, both from the 50 states and international. One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sailing down the Mekong River in Laos and I'm on the roof of the cargo boat and playing long tones on the clarinet, as I'm a beginning reed player, and as I look out, I see villagers on the shore dancing to my notes and I knew then, that my musician had been born!
The absolute awe of being at Telluride in Colorado whether for the bluegrass festival where I've boogied to Little Feet, Joan Armatrane, Martin Sexton, Steve Earle, Sarah McLaughlin, or the Jazz Fest and hearing some of THE most outstanding performers of our times; Ron Carter, Stan Getz, Clayton Brothers, Paquito DeRivera or the Blues and Brews Festival just grooving to Mavis Stapes Marcia Ball, Robert Cray and on and on and being surrounded by the most magnificent peaks and Bridal Veil Falls and the absolute beauty of nature combined by some of the most glorious sounds and the delight of being alive and dancing in absolute joy with 1000's of my closest friends!!!
