ABOUT ME

My priorities and self-definition of success are not the usual. My daughter and I homeschooled (more accurately on-the-road school) and housesat till she was no longer a child. The world was our classroom and the people we meet along the way were our professors. We have both recently left the nest and are creating our lives solo... So most of the photos on here are of the two of us - but now it is just me.

I love cooking, especially with others to learn new cuisines and techniques. I love theater and music and working in the dirt and sailing (crossed the Atlantic in a 38' Benetau) and the synergy of community and building/creating. I am a recovering perfectionist and usually wake up early.

My daughter is a girl of the woods: bow drill fires, carving spoons, brain-tanning hides, hiking. She has an adventurous nature and is the perfect traveling companion. She loves horses and riding, animals of all sorts, reading, drawing...

We are not the party animal sorts, but love to linger over a good meal and talk and laugh, walk about, and are ready for any new experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My daughter and I had a marvelous three months surfing Paris, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Before I knew of CS, I have been couch-surfing for many years of travel without knowing it had an official name!

Now I am ready to explore as an individual.
