About Me

I am a couch surfer from way back. Before the website came along, the rock climbing community and a network of other friends from a decade of steady travel carried me through but unfortunately made me reluctant (aka stubborn and spoiled) to join the site but here I am and it's long overdue. My roommates have hosted and I love the idea behind this website as well as the experiences I have been proxy to.

I'm 32, I make money mostly by being a landlord however I sometimes guide rock climbing, make gourmet pizza, farm, develop real estate, handyman, I used to control documents from behind a desk, and I'm currently working on building a funky treehouse bnb.

As for hosting I can't offer much. I own a farm in Oregon, a rental home in Houston, a camperized Subaru in Washington, and a Renalt trafic camper van in Italy. The best I could offer is the van and it does need a good caretaker. Anyone headed to the Alps!?

I love to learn about people, cook and share meals, see new things, and rest when needed too. I am not fussy about my sleep or sleeping conditions or being woken up or any of that. I know that to share space, some compromises must be made but they are always worth the richer experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like people and I like travel. Hotels can not compare to the experience of "living" in someone's home or hosting them in your own.

Music, Movies, and Books

...always better as a conversation, too much to list. Jazz, Blues, punk, post punk, bluegrass, hip hop... anything with poetry, rhythm, and heart!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I suppose the amount and intensity of travel has provided me with a lot of "amazing" stories but that is a pretty loaded word, right?

How about being nearly killed by Africanized bees while establishing new climbing areas in Central America? That one seems to be my best story but I like to talk; the rest will surely spill out. Ask me about long Moto trips in Asia, spending a night in a middle eastern jail cell (for climbing!), or my time in a cubicle...

Teach, Learn, Share

Language, culture, climbing, cooking... if I have I'll share it. If I don't have it, I want to learn it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Whatever I have with me, mostly info and connections. Usually willing and equipped to take u climbing too.
