Overview
About Me
I'm an artist, activist, and organizer, working as a software developer in St. Louis.
I'm a midwestern boy who made his way to the big city and fell in love with it. I realize that St. Louis isn't really all that big, but it's just big enough for me: in some ways I think of it as the most distilled experience of the United States, in both the best and worst ways.
I've lived in St. Louis without a car for about 5 years now, and while everyday life is definitely tougher (and I often rely on rides from friends for events that aren't easy to get to), it's really provided me with an understanding of how unjustly cities in the United States are designed, and given me a bit of a fire to find the solution to that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a lot of love for St. Louis, and I lucked out to find an apartment with a small guest room. Since I'm right on Cherokee Street (one of the liveliest spots in the city), I'm eager to give folks an insight to and experience of our city, whether as their destination, or a stop passing through.
Interests
I've spent the past few years doing work as an actor and improviser, generally with the company Equally Represented Arts (http://www.eratheatre.org/). St. Louis has an exciting and burgeoning experimental theatre scene, and I'm happy to recommend a show while you're in town.
Since 2016 I have stepped back a bit from performance (rehearsals take a lot of dang time!) to get more involved in grassroots organizing and activism.
