About Me

I believe the best way to experience a city or culture is through it's people. I think the CS network is the perfect way to meet open, fun loving people who agree. I'm a mechanical engineer from Michigan (US), moving to Hawaii soon. I'm an outgoing, bashful person who's full of other contradictions as well. I love trying new foods and meeting new people, and I get along with people who do as well. However, I'm not very argumentative and I prefer people who don't want to argue the entire night. I love to be open with others and get in deep conversation, but I'm not very talkative about "surface" things, so someone who likes to talk about nothing is welcome!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've only surfed once, but I had a really great experience and I'm hopeful I can have some more good experiences.

Interests

I love to bake bread. I studied abroad in Grenoble 3 years ago and since then I've been working to attain a level of similar quality and taste. Now that I'm back in France and I've eaten the bread here again, I feel I can finally say, "I truly make some good bread".

I enjoy everything to do with bicycles. I ride a fair amount, although by no means am I a pro ;) I also work on them and worked at a bike shop for 4 years.

I also like woodworking. The physical actions while letting my mind wander or go blank are kind of like my meditation.

If money were no object I'd open a bike shop / café then hire someone to run the business side of things so I could work on bikes and cook good food.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to be in a teaching role, helping people to grow and improve themselves in a positive way. I know some things and don't know a lot, but I'd love to do something together that makes us both better people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I smile easily, I love to cook, and I can fix your bike if you have the tools.
