Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think Couchsurfing is a great way to meet foreign people and experience first hand how they live in a home environment. Whether a traveler or a local kindly offering their home, Couchsurfing offers users a fun experience all round!

I previously used Couchsurfing through the US and had a fantastic experience with it, meeting some awesome people and staying in some amazing places. I am excited to be using Couchsurfing again, and am looking forward to seeing what this trip has in store!

Interests

I consider myself a outgoing guy who loves exploring and experiencing whatever environment I find myself in.
In the cities, I love immersing myself in the local culture. For me, that would include eating great food, exploring the parks/museums/local shows, and commuting on the local transport.
In the natural environment, I love my hiking! whether it is a day hike, or a multi day hike, there are few greater experiences than exercising out in the sun (or even sometimes the rain) in a beautiful natural scenery! a camera close at hand is not such a bad thing too ☺

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bit more of a fan of the mellow acoustic music...Hozier, Coldplay, Bear's Den, Ben Howard. That being said, I do love my jazz and rock.

Movies: My favorites are the classics like Shawshank Redemption, Lord of the Rings series, Snatch, Lock stock, green mile

Books: I love my fantasy books, with the action books a close second!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a 10 day sailing voyage on a multistory square rig tall ship called the Young Endeavor between the city Hobart, Tasmania up to Sydney, NSW. We helped in hauling the sails, steering the ship, maintaining the engine room, and cooking the food. Very cool experience, I am very lucky to have done it :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I love my music, and can play a few instruments. I play a guitar and sing a bit, and a bit of piano. I would be more than happy to teach what I know!

Share/Learn: Anything! If you have a skillset which you are willing to teach, please, I would love to know!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company and great eating :) I love to cook so will happily have a go at cooking up a great meal for us.
