About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get out and experience more of the USA...and share!

ABOUT ME

ROAD TRIP!!!

Starting from Northern California, I'm heading across America. I plan to wander around and see the great sights/sites, but more and more I tend to associate places with the interesting people I meet along the way.

Couchsurfing is the best way I've found to connect.

What's America without Americans? I don't even want to know. I'm a low-impact guest with adventurous curiosity and a grateful attitude towards those who share their homes and lives through Couchsurfing. Also, I have been fully vaccinated.

Besides all this, I'm donating a middle-grade book I've written to libraries and schools I pass along the way. It's an unpredictable, fun adventure book called "Creighton's Cut-Rate Curio Cabinet".

PHILOSOPHY

You make the road by traveling on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started out surfing couches in the Middle East, attended a few events there, and then came home and started a marathon year of hosting in Santa Cruz. Lately I`ve surfed in Vietnam, Portugal, Spain, France and England- often with couchsurfing friends. It`s great!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has enriched my home life when I've hosted too. I've met people from all over and learned about their lives, interests, culture and beliefs.

I know things don't always work out that way- sometimes a couch is just a couch- but it's great when there's a chance to really get to know others.

Interests

I am into personal fitness and love the outdoors. I enjoy cards and other kinds of games. I've also done a lot of wild animal rehabilitation and many other kinds of community supportive volunteer work. (Reading for the blind, working in Food Banks, being a big brother, serving meals to the homeless, etc...)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read. I've read a lot of travel lit. and novels with some depth, science fiction and fantasy, the occasional mystery, etc.

Musical tastes vary, and I tend to like adventurous movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, watched lava flow into the sea in Hawaii, wandered through the Roman Forum, been amazed at the artifacts and art in many museums, walked moonlit beaches in Costa Rica, climbed a Central American pyramid or two, watched the running of the bulls in Pamplona, stayed overnight in a castle, ridden my bike around England, cruised the Greek islands and loved Santorini, rolled my van in Mexico and walked away unhurt, and wondered why we are only supposed to mention one amazing thing that we've seen or done in our lifetimes in this little box???

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't really know what to put in here. I think what any two people share is somewhat spur of the moment...more like whatever comes up that is of mutual interest. I'm curious to learn about people I meet, and see where it goes...
