One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Long story, I’d have to tell you in person :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Welcome to Kampala, the bustling capital city of Uganda! My name is Miti and I am excited to share with you the beauty and culture of this vibrant city. As a walking tour guide, I have explored every nook and cranny of Kampala and I am eager to show you the hidden gems that this city has to offer.

One of the highlights of my tours is a visit to Munyonyo, the area where I live. It is a beautiful hill that offers stunning views of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. We can take a stroll along the shores of the lake, where you can witness local fishermen casting their nets and bringing in their daily catch. You can also take a boat ride on the lake and experience the serene beauty of the surrounding hills.

As we continue our tour, we can explore the vibrant markets of Kampala, where you can find a variety of fresh produce, colorful fabrics, and handcrafted souvenirs. The Owino Market, one of the largest markets in East Africa, is a sight to behold, with vendors calling out their wares and the sound of haggling filling the air.

We can also visit the historical landmarks of the city, such as the Independence Monument and the National Museum. These sites offer a glimpse into Uganda's rich history and culture. The National Museum, in particular, is home to fascinating exhibits on traditional Ugandan life, including musical instruments, weapons, and clothing.

And of course, we cannot forget the food! Kampala is a melting pot of cultures, and the food reflects that. We can sample local delicacies such as rolex (a rolled chapati filled with eggs and vegetables), matoke (steamed plantains), and groundnut sauce. We can also try out some of the street food, such as samosas and roasted maize.

Overall, my tours offer an immersive and authentic experience of Kampala. As your couchsurfing host, I will ensure that you feel right at home in this bustling city, and I look forward to showing you all that Kampala has to offer.
