ABOUT ME
I like Jamaica Ginger Cake and a nice cup of tea. (I can be found spending AGES in the tea section at the supermarket....)
I have travelled around much of the UK.
I like capoeira.
I seem to have a tendency to sleep lots when road tripping with couples. Hopefully this will change once I get my driving license.

PHILOSOPHY
We are here to be happy and to help each other be happy.
"Nobody is responsible for your feelings but you, when the individual accepts and realizes this responsibility their world will transform."
half is down to fortune, the rest is how you deal with the hand fortune dealt you
Who needs drugs when you have Jakarta?
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to attend meet-ups wherever I am staying and find it a great way to meet lots of interesting, friendly, open-minded people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met some York capoeiristas through couch surfing. As I love York and I love capoeira, it made me very happy indeed. It also introduced me to the couchsurfing website and some very nice people who played capoeira very well. I attended a few meet-ups in London, and thoroughly enjoyed them all. They have included FREE HUGS! and polyglot.
I have now also attended meet-ups in Dubai and KL and met again some fun, interesting, friendly people. yay!
Jakarta CS are a great bunch and took really good care of me on my visit.
Interessen
Capoeira, languages, people, dance, celebration!
Ok I'm kinda geeky too: I like making spreadsheets and I am interested in travellers from other times and places, like Marco Polo, Hang Tuah, Ibn Battuta.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Gabriel Garcia Marquez "Love in the Time of Cholera"
Audrey Neffenberger "The Time Traveller's Wife"
Neal Stephenson "The Diamond Age" (though i don't usually like Stephenson's endings!)
cheesy 90s rom-coms.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
OTHER THAN CAPOEIRA, the Petronas Twin Towers lit up at night look super-cool! I know it's not the best use of energy, but they really are a sight.
Being back in Jakarta after a 12 year absence and within hours of landing, riding through a kampung in north Jakarta on the back of a motorbike before dawn, underneath the stars while hearing the morning call to prayer in the background. Thanks for that experience, Yannie!
Lehren, lernen, teilen
Feel free to ask me anything about living in any of the places I have lived (list above). I will try my best to answer!
I can try to teach some basic Indonesian and capoeira (though we will need some space for the latter). I would like to learn any language. And to cook a special dish!
