About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find my "mountain" and to climb it.

ABOUT ME

People describe me as a Nanna (I drink tea and get up early), a tomboy (I love drinking beer, playing touch rugby, rock climbing, camping, rambling) and a bit of a hippy (I eat lots of organic food, take lots of herbs and I avoid meat of the cow and pig variety).

I love travelling and have have lots of fun!
I've was grounded in Perth for awhile now, but I've just moved to Melbourne in January 2011. Hoping I can find work and friends, but trying to see a bit of Victoria before I get stuck in one location.

PHILOSOPHY

To do as much in the world as you can- experience everything but don't forget to have a break for tea!! While I'm travelling, I have kept my word to never turn down a wacky opportunity unless its dangerous. Something new? I'm onto it! This has meant that I've gone on a postie route with a local Irish postie and have hung out with a band for a few nights, climbed a mountain with city shoes and had a free tour with a guy who thought I was too nice to charge for being on his tour bus. I love it! Gotta try everything that can be tried!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Really just getting started in the couchsurfing community. Long time admirer of the couchsurfing way; Now I want to get involved!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't directly hosted, but I was a housemate of a couchsurfing host. This meant that I had a few couchsurfers staying at my place. I offered food and washing powder to as required :)

When I was in London, I provided a couch (or scary blowup bed!) to friends. I think that's a pretty integral part of being an Aussie in London though. Help those who have helped you!

Interests

Rambling/bushwalking, rock climbing, playing touch rugby, drinking tea! Camping and turning feral for a few days. Exploring the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love:
Books- Not reading so many recently. I have to read too much for work! But I love fantasy novels (Katherine Kerr is the first that pops to mind) and non-fiction (I'm a big science geek),
Music- Xavier Rudd, John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Lily Allen, Reel Big Fish, Cat Empire, The Beautiful Girls
Movies - Too many to list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Killarney and had the most magic weekend you can ever imagine. First I met a postie and went on a postie route, then got taught bog-lore by a seasoned walker giving me a personal tour of the forest, then met up with a band and spend two days backstage, hanging with them and watching the behind-the-scenes. If you want to know more, ask me. But remember, what happens in Killarney.....stays in Killarney.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a big human biology geek, so I'm always interested in science and bodies and supplements and such. I can't help but overflow with information about that at times.
I've learnt that the world always works out. Things work out in the end- if it hasn't worked out, it's not the end.
I'd love to improve my budding German. (I'm trying, but it's a slow process).

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Germany, Poland, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
