I just finished my study as a guitarist and sound engineer. Currently I work in a recording studio and I teach guitar at two music schools. Next to that I play in several bands and have my own "solo" project.

I love to work with my hands. Our garden is full of scrap wood and pallets with which I make all sorts of stuff. From tables to swings, if I need something, I try to make it myself before having to buy something.

We (= me and my girlfriend Lyssa) like to invite friends and eat together in our garden. We might even fire up the fireplace if the weather allows us to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I very much like the idea of getting to know someone from the other side of the globe. I think helping each other out is something that should be done more often all over the world and this is a perfect way to do so.

I want to challenge myself in all aspects. Wether it's music, woodworks, traveling or social interaction; I want to grow as a person and do things I didn't think I could.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music and it's impossible to pick out a favorite band or genre. Everything depends on my mood and current situation. I do generally prefer guitar bands such as QOTSA and Them Crooked Vultures. But then again I can be really into Elliott Smith or Radiohead the next day.

I really like the Coen brothers' and Quentin Tarantino's movies and I admit I should read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just finished recording my first album. I wrote, sung, played guitar, recorded and mixed the whole record myself. I had the help of six drummers; all of them drummed on one or two songs.

I can probably teach you on or two things on a guitar. I could help you understand basic HTML and/or CSS and I'd love to show you how to make my famous deluxe-burgers!
