About Me

ABOUT ME

I am quiet person, but social. Peruvian at heart, but becoming a new yorker since I move here. New York is a state of mind, and a fast pace city. I do love people, and my work is proof of it. I identify as Gay, so been doing lot of grass root community mobilization within the Latino community in NYC. Also I'd been told that I have great sense of humor, and are an easy going individual. A friend that can go the extra-mile, but will remain true to my values. Moreover , they I would say that I am very responsible, and respectful. Don't be fooled, I might appear as shy, but it is usually the first impression that is given by my presence.

Furthermore, I am a good listener and enjoy to get to know people and their adventures, stories, experiences, and life lessons. It is the only way to truly get to know a person, thru their experiences. In fact, I do have few friends, but really good ones, and do not get me started on my family. They are very warn, and welcoming. But, I do know a lot of people, so with me you get to know the city thru the people that we find in our path. As far as I know, I believe that this is the whole-heart experience to get immerse in a city, through its people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, and whenever I do have the chance to do so, I go for it. However, traveling all the time does impact on your wallet, and besides finding an affordable ticket, it is not just enough. I like the couchsurfing because it allows you to be part of someone else experience, so part of the equation.

Moreover, It is totally different to discover this world around us thru its people's eyes.

Interests

I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Also, I enjoyed getting to know people and how we all fit within society.. .with our differences, and unique talents and limitations.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first time in New York, it just open my mind ...giving an idea of how diverse and multicultural is our world. Second, My experience with my community... I work as a program coordinator for MSM (Gay/BI) back in 2009 and I have never felt the power that we have as a community. .. Something we just learn to leave on the side, but Once I re-discovered... it just make me felt part of something big. And Finally, When I started to analyze my own life, and my own experiences... it just help me to understand better other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, New York City has a lot of hidden places that tourist most of the time miss because they are so focus on the main attractions. I am all about that, small warm, and welcoming new spaces, and ambient, where you can get different air. Perhaps, it is because I live here at NYC.

However, I am pretty much informed of what places can you visit, and go depending on your interest.
