About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am in American truck driver. I travel primarily the western United States. My couch is a big truck, and would love to host somebody here in the states well I drive around the country enjoying life! If you wish to come to the states and travel via big truck, I would definitely be able to accommodate you!

I am about to embark on a trip to Europe for the month of February with my good friend Jodi. We’ll be leasing a car from Renault. I am really looking forward to this trip, and planning is in full swing. My greatest expenses will be diesel and accommodations in the various cities.

ABOUT ME

I’m a very friendly and enthusiastic person, but am not a socialite, and tend to stick around with one or two people at a time, as crowds tend to be a problem for me. So bars, clubs and anything resembling a mosh pit are not in my vocabulary. My social venues are places where things are taken like good wine, slow and easy, but not fancy. A coffee shop, a park, and especially like getting together with friends in a living room.
..I am a very blunt person in my personal life, and I think thats why my friends love me so much, and come to me for advice. I don't sugar-coat issues, and do my best to tell the truth in all situations, however, in the work environment, I do keep it professional, because bluntness in the workplace hurts the business (I smile and nod, works all the time!)..
Some say this is a bad trait, but I believe our world has too many white lies in it, and I don't want to be a part of that. In general I respect people, but I won't lie to make someone feel good, I'd rather just playfully look away and say nothing in an obvious way.
I love traveling, Traveling is my ultimate medicine because I get to meet all kinds of people.

PHILOSOPHY

Honesty, Integrity and Loyalty. I'm not a perfect person, and I don't expect anyone else to be. I've made a ton of mistakes in my past, and I don't let that deter me from who I truly am as a person. People shouldn't hold judgment based on past history. Humanity is a dynamic force.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm generally new to couch surfing, mostly I Drive for a living. That is a Drive a huge American style tractor and trailer. I operate mainly in the Pacific Northwest, however I am traveling to Europe and really interested in finding someone to share a space with and truly experience Europe. When I am not driving, I tend to love to cook, and eat and experience the sights of where ever I may be at the moment.

Interests

I'm fairly sedentary by nature, and as such I generally enjoy the simple things in life. Mainly, I love to drive or ride around the country catching the amazing sights our awesome country offers us. Other interests of mine include playing World of Warcraft, hanging out at Starbucks surfing the web and drinking coffee of course, and I love socializing, although I am not the one for big crowds

Music, Movies, and Books

I've read a ton of them, and am particularly fond of John Grisham, Patricia Cornwell, Robin Cook, and other legal & medical thrillers. I do love one historical fiction series called the Zion Covenant by Bodie and Brock Thorne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a truck driver. I think this is one of the most amazing career moves I have made in my life. Traveling is now a profession for me, and there is nothing I would trade it for in the world except more travel!

For 11 long years I traversed the USA without a care or clue in the world where I would end up the next day, or where I would sleep, eat or shower. I have bipolar disorder, so the adventure was amplified by my crazy little thoughts which screamed "RUN!!!!". I always found myself in short social situations which seemed to be very satisfying at the moment, yet always left me empty all and all. I've been to 43 of the 50 United States, the US Territory of Guam, England (London and Brighton) Amsterdam, Netherlands, Madrid, Spain, Lisbon, Portugal, and Seoul, South Korea, and back to the USA- Florida, where I currently reside. Amazingly enough, my problems still followed me to each and every single location I ever found myself in.

Traveling, though, gives me a sense of freedom, freedom I'm not fortunate to have when I'm stationary. Traveling also gives me a sense of comfort. Unknowingly, this "sense of comfort" was only a sense, and never realized for me. I can remember countless times I sat down in a coffee shop and had long conversations with random strangers about anything and everything, but the true responsibilities due in my life. Strangely enough, I always moving along, instead of establishing any real bonds with anyone.

In my adult life, I've never lived in any single place for longer than 6 months, unless I was forced to (prison became a reality due to some stupid things I did in 2001). Never-the-less, I was constantly on the move, calling myself a "Modern Day Nomad" with out the camel, well not the animal kind anyways.

Bipolar Disorder can cause intense feelings of abandonment, while at the same token there's this fervent desire to be close to people. Abandonment was the cause for me embarking on my 11 year adventure, and it's still the cause for my mini-adventures away from home.

Traveling is adventurous. You never truly know what lies ahead, no matter how many times you say "I'm going to do A, B and C". Somehow it always works out that you end up doing S, T, U, P, I, and D and end up in a situation crappier than what you left behind.

Problems love to come along with us on our journeys. They even pack their own bags (those heavy bastards!) and bog us down all along the way.

Is life truly simpler on the road? After 11 years, I've come to a draw. At times I sit and think that it was. I didn't have to answer to anyone, do any one's deeds; I could just exist. Exist in my own world. Hurting no-one, but myself. Funny how life is.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a very good researcher. I find myself discovering new and unusual things each and every time I embark on some adventure of sorts.
