About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To try and stay in America for more than 4 months without impuslively wandering away.

ABOUT ME

Left my home of Los Angeles and a neglected career in the music industry to become a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria for 2.5 years where I taught English and engaged in community and youth development work. Left Bulgaria for a career in fashion trend forecasting in New York City and a year of wanderlust before moving to Korea and falling in love with Asia. After ten years abroad, I returned to LA working as a cultural anthropologist and researcher in the big bad corporate world, but it funded travels around the world! During the Pandemic, I ended up in Bend, Oregon trying out something entirely new and finally staying in one place for a few years!

PHILOSPHY

Life as ceremony. Joy as a prayer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been hosted by some amazing people all across Europe - my first CS experience was so amazing that we've met/hosted each other now in 4 different countries. I've also met great CSers in Korea and Japan and hosted a few during my time in Bulgaria. The whole concept is fantastic. Such a great opportunity to meet and learn about people from other places and fill your life with the greatness that brings!

Interests

I'm an explorer. Its my job (literally) to find out what culture is and how it changes - so I do that most when I travel. I ask the big questions and wander around with eyes wide open and endless curiosity. I'm interested in big human questions and how we are all evolving. I'm an old soul interested in ancient lands, philosophies, traditions and religions. I'm a creative at heart and a collector of old, unique beauty, especially traditional textiles and craft. I love the idiosyncrasies of culture so if it's something weird and unknown to me, I want to know. I also love photography, color, street art, flea markets, camping, yoga, meditation, esoteric and ancient spirituality, connecting in nature, Mexican food, Middle Eastern music and dancing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Camped on an unbelievable deserted pebble beach in Albania with some of the greatest people alive. And combed through the barely visited villages of Cambodia meeting some of the most humble people in the world.
