About Me

I couch surfed and hosted about 10 years ago, and now that I am planning a trip to Europe, I'd love to meet and stay with locals in some of the places I'll be visiting.

My formal background is in Agronomy and Animal Sciences, now I do software consulting and development for a living, and on the side I'm remodeling my place.

I'm an avid biker and love going on bike touring trips. I also enjoy sailing and windsurfing. One of these days I hope to charter a sail boat in the Gulf of Mexico, or in the Mediterranean or Aegean or Adriatic Seas!

I also enjoying playing the guitar and singing :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always enjoyed meeting people from other cultures, and traveling, and I think the best way to travel is to interact with the locals as much as possible, and couchsurfing is a great way to do that.

I've surfed and hosted in the past, and I've only had very good experiences fortunately.

Interests

Sailing, biking, and all kinds of sports; camping, hiking, reading, sustainable agriculture, renewable sources of energy, learning about other cultures, music, playing the guitar and singing, art in general, photography, other ways of approaching life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love bluegrass and folk music, folk music from South America, tango, and the Central American / Caribbean rhythms (salsa, bachata, merengue, boleros, etc)

I watch very little television or movies. I watched Coco about Day of the Dead in Mexico and loved it.

I am currently reading Bernabé, Bernabé, by Uruguayan author Mattos Rodríguez.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 5 months with my ex-wife back-packing, woofing, and couch surfing through most of Western Europe.
