About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live outside the clock; spend my life enjoying it

ABOUT ME

I am 20 years old, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I love music and movies, I play drums and I like to draw, cook, and bike. My favorite place to go in Brooklyn is Prospect Park and I love going to all of the great museums in NYC. I'm pretty good at billiards, I like going to concerts, and I'm very 4/20 friendly :D. I'm always open to new things and always looking to expand my understanding of everything and I like learning about philosophy, history, psychology, biology and a ton of other stuff. I want to set foot on every continent (other than Antarctica), and live abroad for at least 2 years before I turn 30. I'm in the process of learning to speak German and Italian, plus I know a little Spanish from high school.
My biggest goals in life are to study anthropology and travel the world.
I just graduated college and I'm now traveling around Europe!

Sto imparando a parlare tedesco e italiano, e io conosco un po 'di spagnolo del liceo.
I miei più grandi obiettivi nella vita sono viaggiare il mondo e studiare antropologia.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to spend my life experiencing new things, places, and people constantly. The idea of having a steady job and remaining in the same place for most of my life does not excite me at all. I would rather live with freedom and varied experiences than with moderate financial stability.
My philosophy is best described as epicurean and existential. I'm not really concerned with earning a lot of money or being able to buy fancy things. I just want to experience life as it comes and not worry about being prepared for the future all the time. I believe in doing what feels right, good, and/or instinctive as long as it doesn't cause harm to others.
It's hard to put all this philosophy stuff into a neat little paragraph, but I know I could give a much better explanation if I was speaking to you in person!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I plan to utilize CS as much as possible when I travel abroad this summer. I am going to London for the the Olympic Games and from there I plan to visit many countries in Europe(mainly Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain). I am hoping my CS experience will help me learn to speak German and Italian, and teach me about all the distinct cultures I will come in contact with. I definitely want to be in Munich for Oktoberfest!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like almost every type of music. Everything from old school hip hop to grunge, heavy metal, blues, house music, funk & soul, disco, folk, classical, punk rock, and many others. Some artists I like are The Doors, Sublime, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Beatles, The Misfits, Metallica, Biggie Smalls, Nas, Tupac, Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, Beastie Boys, Kid Cudi, Eminem, Kanye West, MF Doom, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Little Richard, Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, James Brown, Frank Sinatra...and many more.

I am also very into movies, but it's so hard to try to make a list of all my favorites without leaving some out. Some of my favorites are Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, Dumb and Dumber, The Matrix, Taxi Driver, Pulp Fiction, Deer Hunter, and so many others that I'm forgetting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Slept in the rain cuddling with somebody's puppy on one of the first nights of Occupy Wall Street at Zuccotti Park in NYC.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach and learn from others about different cultures and philosophies. I feel that the rest of the world contains so much wisdom; I want to absorb as much as I can, and I think traveling is the key to that wisdom, by meeting others around the world and understanding all cultures and what we share.
