About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to collect stories. Everyone has stories - stories that shape the person they've become. I love hearing these stories!
ABOUT ME
I'm a person who grew up believing the world was black and white. But the people I have met and gotten to know who grew up and had experiences so different than my own - they have filled my life with vibrant color.
I'm a student. I love learning. I'm a wife (married in 2010). I'm a dog owner (love dogs). I have a sincere appreciation for art, particularly music. I love talking to people who have thoughts on life that are different from my own. I learn so much from them and they often open my eyes and make me aware of things I have not considered.
PHILOSOPHY
Do not be quick to judge. Everyone struggles to do the best they can with what life has given them. And if you had been dealt the same hand, who is to say you wouldn't have chosen the same path?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd love to host and surf. I'm new to the community, but would love to gain some experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None yet, other than hearing stories from friends who have done it. They've all said good things about couchsurfing.
Interests
Music (fold/indie are my favorite genres). Hiking/kaying/whitewater rafting (but you can't do a lot of that here in Illinois). Trying different kinds of food (sushi is my favorite). And this is probably a little abnormal - but I love having deep, meaningful conversations about life. They always leave such an impression on me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've branded cattle and castrated them. Not for fun. That would be weird. My family had cattle growing up.
Teach, Learn, Share
My friends tell me the greatest gift I give to people are my questions. I seem to have a way of asking people about themselves in a way that allows them to discover new things about themselves. Maybe I'm just a strangely inquisitive person, but I love watching people discover things about themselves they never realized were there.
I love meeting people who can teach me new things, and I usually learn the most from the stories they share with me about their life and their philosophies.
