Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Traveling : ) Learning as much as possible from anyone anywhere
ABOUT ME
I love to travel and experience different cultures and people. It definitely has taught me that even though there are cultural differences, people everywhere are pretty much the same. (quirky and a bit crazy, but altogether fun!) I've been given opportunities to visit many places and have always been impressed by the hospitality of others (especially cs!)
PHILOSOPHY
Hm... a work in progress? I think life is about learning from others and showing and sharing God. (But no, I don't try and force my faith on others.) Kindness, particularly to strangers, is not overrated, ever. I think under stress you (and others) show their true character, and it's important to be patient and kind at those times.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I currently do not have a couch to share, but definitely am willing to do coffee/tour guide with someone if they really want to visit the-middle-of-nowhere Arkansas or a similar location in Kansas!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just surfed, not hosted, but definitely amazing to get to know people from each city. Really changes your perspective on a place.
Interests
Traveling, for sure! Also singing (I've been to Europe twice and China with a couple of singing groups.) I love any other form of music, listening, playing, etc, particularly jazz or acoustic/indie stuff.
Can adventure be an interest? A friend and I recently got lost in my current state of Arkansas for about 3 hours just because we wanted to take a drive somewhere new... oops... but honestly, it was fun!

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite books currently are "Searching for God Knows What," "Little Women," "Walden Pond," etc.
Music: everything, literally. jazz, indie, acoustic, classical, musicals (ok, lie, not a huge fan of rap)Current favorites are Ben Harper, Jack Johnson, Priscilla Ahn, Andrew Bird, and Peter Bradley Adams.
Movies: Juno, P.S. I Love You, Death at a Funeral, any Disney movie, Audrey Hepburn movies, any musicals. Don't mind a good action movie in the right setting
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I've done to date is live in Italy and get to know the amazing, wonderful, caring people here. It's been an experience, for sure, but in general I've learned that people are generally willing to help and be kind.
One of the more amazing (and detestable) things I've seen is the absolute poverty people can live in and still survive.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm not sure I have a great many marketable skills, other than being open-minded and having traveled quite a bit I adore singing, so I guess if you need lessons... or something... : ) I can cook, nothing fancy, but if you want a good American breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, etc) I can definitely teach you that!
