Hi, I'm Marja! You can say Maria, it won’t be far off. I come from Finland but I try to be elsewhere as much as I can.

Travelling is my passion, I'm constantly planning a new trip. I’ve done and still do most of my travels solo. I don't mind my own company but I also like to meet people during my travels and couchsurfing is great for that!

I'm in general interested to learn about different cultures and societies, this is the main thing about traveling for me. As a former poli sci student I'm also always ready to discuss politics. On my travels I like to active things like scuba diving, hiking and yoga, and cultural stuff, like museums, historical places, galleries and live music. I enjoy good coffee, beer and wine and will not say no to a fun party.

Couchsurfing is the best way to get to know a new town and meet some local people. I have met with couchsurfers in several places around the world.

For me Couchsurfing community is great for meeting new people when travelling, also when you're not looking for couch but just to get a local perspective or company for exploring new places or to grab a beer. I've met many amazing people through Couchsurfing, actually I rarely travel without meeting with someone from CS!
