About Me

ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Matt, I am 28 years old, and I come from the United States.

In the past, I have worked in hostels, interned at farms and eco-villages, studied product design at an art institute, and written and performed as a musician. I enjoy gardening, cooking, fermenting foods, and am also interested in writing and reading on a variety of subjects.

This March, I returned to the United States after a three month trip to Japan, where I volunteered through Workaway. I enjoyed the experience, and am looking forward to continue using this site to look for volunteer opportunities in America, with a fresh, new perspective of the country.

I simply want to contribute my time to something beautiful; something that contributes to a healthy planet, full of healthy, creative people. If that sounds like something you are wishing to create as well as a host, then I would be happy to stay with you, and look forward to our chance of meeting.

Matt

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently, i've come to a point where I don't know what kind of music I like anymore, so I listen to any song that is within audible range, or whatever everyone else is listening to. I enjoy whistling, listening to bird calls, and hearing the wind rustle through the leaves. Does that sound romantic, or boring?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It hasn't happened yet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an amateur, in the true sense of the word, ama- coming from amare, or, 'to love'. I dabble in things here and there and assimilate the knowledge I am drawn to through a quasi-concious process of osmosis. This becomes evident in my speech, and in the often nebulous scope of interests that I draw upon. It is simply the experience of a lay-person - someone stationed in the empiricism of those experiences.

All I have to share is myself. All I want to learn is how I can be a part of something that is larger than myself by creatively participating and engaging with the world. All I have to teach is what i've learned.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, clean, help with yard work and chores around the house. I love working outside. I can share conversations, smiles, and laughter.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
