About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a California native who is back home after spending several years abroad. I studied and worked in Shanghai for about a year, I served in the Peace Corps in Northern Ukraine for 2 years and I worked as an English teacher in Burundi for 4 months. I am now getting my teaching credential in San Francisco and I work in public schools here in the city. I love learning different languages (my current language of study is French) and I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and introducing them to my home, San Francisco.

PHILOSOPHY

The more we get to know each other the more people will like each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was living in Ukraine I couchsurfed a bit with some people in Germany and Budapest. Both experiences were great, and now that I am home I would like to reciprocate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had a tv show when I was in the Peace Corps in Ukraine.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could throw you or a friend a small English grammar tutoring session

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cool places to go, things to see, things to eat in San Francisco, all from a local perspective. I grew up in Napa (1 hour north) but all my family is from SF and I know the city pretty well. I think I can introduce visitors to a side of the city they would probably not see on their own. SF has lots of great neighborhoods and nooks and cranies that are hard to discover if you are a tourist. I can also bring people on great walks around the city.

Countries I’ve Visited

Burundi, Canada, China, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Burundi, China, Ukraine, Viet Nam
