About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ola! Estou viajando no Brasil Durante 3 mezes. Estou pesquisando novos amigos, cultura e quero muito dançar forro 🇧🇷

ABOUT ME

I'm an open, outgoing and enthousiast young lady trying to get the best of out her life experience!

I grew up in a small village in the countryside of Belgium. I studied at the university of Brussels.
After my studies, I lived for 3 months in Brazil where I learned Portuguese and i worked as a volontarian in a school as a teacher.
After this experience, I traveled with my best friend Vivi through the rest of South-America :-) Our goal was going from Santiago do Chile until the Tierra del Fuego, and then go back to the North through Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay to finall go back to Brazil again. A long and amazing travel experience where we met a lot of extraordinary and different people thanks to Couchsurfing! Can't forget how many times we told our story and had fun with people talking about our cultures and experiences.

Then i worked for several years in Brussels before talking a new start in Madrid as a French teacher in a secundary school!

Then I went back to my favorite country : BRAZIL! To work as a French teacher for 1 year. Then I travelled a lot.

Now I live in Belgium, Brussels, since 3 years and I am a communication officer for the Belgian Federal Government in the Arrival Centre for migrants in Brussels. A very enriching experience, as for the first time, I am not the one traveling, but I am the one welcoming people in my country.

PHILOSOPHY

"ah mes pauvres amis, si la vie est courte et la mort éternelle, réveillons-nous et allons hop ! Allons faire des choses folles et héroiques."

"Le monde est un spectacle a regarder et non un problème a résoudre"

"Ce qui empèche les gens de vivre ensemble, c'est leur connerie, pas leurs différences"

'Do what you can with what you have where you are'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I find it so GREAT to meet people from places I´m going to. I wish they will be as enthousiastic and outgoing as myself when people come to Brussels.. I love telling them where to go, and then expecting their positive comments about it. I love showing them places that people don't expect like the view from an old parking in the center of the city, or showing them the tags on the wall that are everywhere around but nobody noticed them. Well, actually I like creative and alternative things that make my eyes shine :-) i also love to cook Belgian dishes: boulettes sauce tomates, pêches au thon,...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I welcomed a girl named Serap from Istanbul last year for a fez days. Amawing experience. It has been much more than what I expected. It was a pleasure to meet her and to bring her with me visiting my city and enjoying life together, as well as the party as the relaxing moments on my couch!

I also welcomed two French girls doing a roadtrip. We had good talks in a bar in Brussels.

Interests

I´m looking for cultural differences, make new friends, good talks and parties, hearing some good tips to travel, I love yoga, meditation Vipassana, and good food! I love arts and cinema. (not Netflix, but I know all the names of French actors haha)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Hitch-hicking in Andalucia (from Malaga to Valencia).
- Swimming naked in a lake in Lapland after a typical sauna with locals
- Riding a car until the end of the night not knowing where we would go, ending up in the middle of the woods near a weird dwarf house and an hospice without no petrol anymore...
- Going to the end of the world with my best friend Vivi: Ushuaia!
- Night swimming under the moonlight with the feeling the water is more hot than the air.
- Leave everything and buy a ticket for 6 weeks in Mexico, by myself ;-)
