About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To travel to as many places as I can and take in all the wide varieties of culture in Europe!
ABOUT ME
I love many different things, and I'm always up for trying new things. I came to Swansea, Wales to study abroad for a semester to provide myself a chance to see parts of the world that I'd never been to and immerse myself in a new culture. Before coming here, I'd never set foot outside the US. I'm loving every minute, and it's great being here without a best friend because I love testing my independence! Before I leave to go home to the states, I hope that I have a deeper appreciation and better understanding of the world as a whole.
Now I guess you know why I'm here, but still don't know much about me. I'll try to explain myself as concisely as possible.
I love: my family back home in Iowa, meeting new people, having long conversations with both old and new friends, smiling, laughing, drinking (and the dancing that goes along with it), and basically life in general.
I dislike: most seafood, shy people who are impossible to talk to, being lazy, being cold, not being able to play an instrument, not being fluent in another language besides English.
PHILOSOPHY
"Happiness depends on ourselves." --Aristotle
I think that only we can make ourselves happy and whenever I have a bad day, I think about that and try to turn things around. It's all about how you look at life that determines what you can get out of it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to the project, but it sounded interesting and I thought it would be good to stay with people who were familiar and passionate about the area. It also sounds like a great way to meet fellow travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed 4 times now, and all 4 times were unique and wonderful experiences. I can't wait to couchsurf again in the future!
Interests
I absolutely love talking to anyone about basically anything. I love music, theater, history, dancing, fashion, being outdoors, all kinds of sports, cooking, running, and of course, traveling!

Music, Movies, and Books
I generally like movies that make me laugh. I'm quite a goofball! I do have a serious side though. I love the book "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. Such great life lessons! I like many different kinds of music, but my favorites are Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Jack Johnson, Frank Sinatra, and some classical composers as well. I especially enjoy music with acoustic guitar- it's so relaxing; I only wish I could play guitar myself. Maybe someone out there could give me a 2 or 3 day lesson while Couchsurfing?? :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This is always a work in progress. I've been fortunate to see many wonderful places in the US and now I'm living out a dream and traveling around Europe. That to me is amazing since I never thought I would be able to do it because of time and money constraints.
Teach, Learn, Share
I LOVE to cook and bake. I promise you if I Couchsurf with you, I will try to make some American food, if you are interested. I'd enjoy a lesson from other chefs as well. :)
