About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My life, like anyone else's, is a series of human experiences - beautiful experiences to be shared with beautiful people

CS REQUESTS - I typically need a few days advance notice. If you are requesting a couch for the same day, even if I am in town, I will probably not be able to host you. Thanks!

ABOUT ME

Love to eat (and cook), loves to dance, loves to travel and explore. I care about what is going on in the world, but more importantly, I care about those in my life--close friends and family. Love to make people feel warm and welcome.

How could I forget--nature lover and adventurer. Being outdoors is amazing!

Openly gay FYI.

PHILOSOPHY

I am firm on the belief that life is a series of experiences to be shared with others. That said, I want share meaningful experiences with people who feel the same way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a newbie, so I'm getting a feel for how it works. I have friends that have told me the wonders of CouchSurfing, and here I am.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

New to this scene, but some of my best travel adventures in life have been shared with like-minded people opening up their homes and their lives across the world.

Interests

I enjoy the simple idiosyncrasies [or range of emotions] of humans--expressions of happiness, sadness, innocence, excitement, anxiety. I like watching people--sometimes strangers, but mostly children or people I know--to get a sense of how they are feeling, what they might be thinking. My friends have known me to make up a whole script of what I think is going on with folks at a distance without truly having a clue what is actually going on.

I like to share my life with people. Life is but a series of shared experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I think my all-time favorite movie is "Amelie." I usually enjoy most movie that make you think, but I easily enjoy a comedy or action film. Scary movies can be good, but they are usually disappointing--despite that, they still freak me out. (I've been known to keep a friend hostage after a scary movie, until I can be sure there are no monsters or robbers hiding in my house.)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 19, my friends and I went to Florida for Spring Break. This story isn't about epic drinking--which I also enjoy, but it's about adrenaline rush. We trespassed into an area that housed old rock quarries. The rock quarries were now filled with water, like a reservoir, but we climbed out to the edge and it was at least a 50 foot drop down to the water. (One of our friends had already been there--our guide if you will.) Despite anxiety and numerous 1-2-3 counts, each one of us finally jumped, and it was am amazing free fall! Even after jumping the first time, each time after was still extremely terrifying, but well worth it. Funny ending: we got caught by the local police and were all cited for trespassing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to cook, and I love cooking with others. I like to play volleyball, and, well, it's difficult to play by yourself. I speak Vietnamese, and am happy to introduce you to the challenge of tonal languages.

I am open to learning almost anything from anyone.
