About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live from the heart...& follow where it leads!
ABOUT ME
I have been a wandering fool since a pretty young age...at 17 I took my first trip abroad, as an exchange student in Sweden. A year and a half later I spent 6 months "studying" in Northern England. Since that time I've spent about 7 years elsewhere in the world...mainly SE Asia. I have a brother and sister, who each have 2 kids which gives my mama the grandkids she adores and conveniently lets me off the hook. I haven't had a TV in over a decade and only occasionally watch movies, so don't mind the blank stare I give you when you mention some random actor.
PHILOSOPHY
My personal philosophy? Why, thanks for asking! I think that all of us are more powerful than we realize. That there is much more that brings us together than tears us apart. That all politics are local and our biggest vote is our dollar. Spend wisely my friends!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Though my friend has been bugging me for years to use couchsurfing more, it's been just recently that I've been heeding her advice and I couldn't be happier. I've surfed in Singapore, Santa Fe and Taos, and attempted to host a guy who was riding his motorcycle around the world in Minneapolis, but he had to take a different route so my fair city got the boot. I look forward to having an apartment again so I can do some more hosting. I hope that I'm building the community by being one awesome guest!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had an awesome time in Taos surfing with Soraya. She offered to take us to the mineral springs, which she hadn't visited either. Her landlady gave us directions and off we headed in my 1993 Chevy Van. Mistake #1. It's as close to off-roading as I ever need to get with my much beloved Gladis! In the end we had a amazing tour into the gorge, across the Rio Grande, up the ravine on the other side...but alas, no mineral springs. Lots of good laughs!
Interests
Transforming my fellow countrymen into travelers, finding cool art in the markets of the world, a good bottle of wine, handmade anything, world religions, the healing power of herbs and oils, buying local...wherever I am!

Music, Movies, and Books
Brother Ali, the Replacements, Prince, Bob Dylan, the Gear Daddies...gotta love that Minneapolis sound! Terry Pratchett, the Sun Magazine and the Onion...all great from cover to cover. Movies...I'm kind of hard to please. Any suggestions?
